In 2005, Camille released Le fil. This is a concept album, built on one note (a B) that starts at the beginning of the album and stops at its end. All the songs of the album are constructed on the voice of Camille with only one instrument (double-bass, and sometimes a keyboard).
Camille's third studio album Music Hole, released in March 2008, shows a key turn in her career: it is mostly sung in English.

My home has no roof
My home has no windows
It ain't water proof
My home has no handles
My home has no keys
If you're here to rob me
There's nothing to steal
A la maison
Dans ma maison
C’est là que j’ai peur
Home is not a harbour
Home home home
Is where it hurts
My home has no heart
My home has no veins
If you try to break in
It bleeds with no stains
My brain has no corridors
My walls have no skin
You can lose your life here
The song "Home Is Where It Hurts" by Camille is a poignant and emotional reflection on the nature of home. The lyrics describe a home that is not a traditional one, but rather a dwelling that is lacking in many of the features that most people associate with a place of comfort and safety. The absence of doors, windows, and a roof make the singer vulnerable and exposed, while the lack of a heart and veins suggests an emptiness and lack of warmth.
Despite its shortcomings, the singer longs for this place, as it is where she feels a sense of fear and vulnerability. The line "Home is not a harbour" suggests that home is not a place of refuge, but rather a place where one's deepest fears and insecurities are exposed. The repetition of the word "home" throughout the song serves to emphasize the importance of this concept, even if it is not a conventional one.
Overall, "Home Is Where It Hurts" is a powerful commentary on the meaning of home and the role it plays in our lives. It suggests that home is not necessarily a physical place, but rather a state of mind and a set of emotions that we carry with us wherever we go.
