In 2005, Camille released Le fil. This is a concept album, built on one note (a B) that starts at the beginning of the album and stops at its end. All the songs of the album are constructed on the voice of Camille with only one instrument (double-bass, and sometimes a keyboard).
Camille's third studio album Music Hole, released in March 2008, shows a key turn in her career: it is mostly sung in English.

The lyrics to Camille's song Là ou je suis née are a poignant reflection on the singer's childhood home. The first four lines of the song paint a picture of a place that is remote and isolated, with no train station, road, or even a pavement. Yet, in the following lines, Camille describes the beauty of her birthplace - the smell of laundry and flowers, treehouses and most importantly, love. She goes on to say that in this place, there is no war, and people of all colors live in harmony.
The chorus of the song is where Camille's fierce independence shines through. She acknowledges that she cannot count on others, but that she will return to her birthplace, even if she has to go alone. This theme of self-reliance and self-discovery is a common thread throughout the entire album, and it resonates strongly with Camille's audience.
Overall, Là ou je suis née is a beautiful tribute to Camille's childhood home, and the emotions it evokes are universal. It's a song about nostalgia, longing, and the search for identity that anyone can relate to, regardless of their background or experiences.
