In 2005, Camille released Le fil. This is a concept album, built on one note (a B) that starts at the beginning of the album and stops at its end. All the songs of the album are constructed on the voice of Camille with only one instrument (double-bass, and sometimes a keyboard).
Camille's third studio album Music Hole, released in March 2008, shows a key turn in her career: it is mostly sung in English.

Le long do canal
A Rio j'ai eu le mal do pays
Oh! Paris perdu
Je retourne vivre à Paris.
The song "Paris" by Camille is an ode to the City of Light, but with a twist. The singer decides to leave Paris because she's had enough of its dullness and wants to experience other cities that have a different kind of vibrancy. She's tired of the clichéd attractions and romanticized views of the city, like the walks by the canal and the picturesque staircases. Camille describes the cityscape as gray and gloomy, and dissects the iconic symbols of Paris, such as the metro stations and the Seine, from someone who's lived there too long.
The song opens with "Fini les balades le long do canal," which means "No more walks along the canal." This sets the tone for the rest of the song, where the singer relays her decisions of leaving the city and finding another place to explore. She uses Paris as a punching bag, complaining about everything from the bateaux mouche to the grimy streets. The chorus repeats the lines "Paris tu paries Paris que je te quitte" which translates to "Paris, you bet that I'm leaving you" as a challenge to the city she once loved.
The song "Paris" is a perfect example of a love-hate relationship where the singer is conflicted as to whether or not to abandon her familiar surroundings. It's a poignant reflection of how a long-cherished thing, like a city, can lose its luster over time. The singer seeks new experiences, but at the same time recognizes the value of her roots and decides to return to Paris in the end.

I'm done with the walk
Along of the canal
The postcard's stairs
It's over, Paris, it's decided I'm out of here
I'm done with the greyness
The morose morning
I heard that in Toulouse the bricks are pink
Oh there, Paris, the bricks are pink
Paris, do you take the bet that I leave you ?
That I change of cape, of capital
Paris, do you take the bet that I leave you ?
I'm breaking, on your dirty sidewack
I know too much your mouth, mouth of subway
the riverboats, and the color of the water
It's over, Paris, I know that too much
Here I'm bored, even when the night come
I heard that in Sevilleis awakening at midnight
There, Paris, the city's awakening at midnight
Paris, do you take the bet that I leave you ?
That I change of cape, of capital
Paris, do you take the bet that I leave you ?
I'm breaking up, on your dirty sidewack
Paris, do you take the bet that I leave you ?
That I change of cape, of capital
Paris, do you take the bet that I leave you ?
I'm breaking up, on your dirty sidewack
In Toulouse it was raining, In Seville I was too drunk
In Rio I had homesickness
I lost my bet, I go back to live in Paris

@rebyelmik
I've loved this album for more than a decade now; it's so fresh and spontaneous, still. The obvious joy in her singing her song "La demeure dans ciel". Also the music's so very visual. Example: "Paris" or "Mon Ex" with its chaotic sound effects! And this was before I discovered Youtube! Love it.

Ah! Cómo me encanta la voz de Camille. Amo también a Francia, aunque nos haya querido conquistar (estoy en México), particularmente París; bueno, me encantaría ir. Y también me encantaría hablar francés. =)
