After building some hype in the Hollywood Ca. area, the band quickly received some attention from the major record label Interscope. Their first release was the 'Mood Enhancer' Ep, this was supposed to be followed by a full CD. However, with success came drug problems which resulted in the group disbanding.
Years later, they joined up again. A full CD would be released by an indie lable titled 'Delongpre' (2002), which featured songs recorded years earlier.
A third release, 'Tell Them Hi' was released in 2003 by Interscope Records( yeah, they resigned them), received some critical praise, but their popularity did not seem to reach critical mass.
The band broke up for a 2nd time and lead singer Christian Stone is now pursuing with

While you were watching from the back
Tell me, does it mean a thing?
And all the kids sing along
When the chorus comes
[Chorus 1]
If only
Find you
Now they don't write the songs like the way that they used to
And you can wait so long if you find that you need to
And all these things that they'be been doing
While the world is burnt to dust
When they knew all along
That it would be this way
[Chorus 2]
If only
If I could
Find you
Now they don't write the songs like the way that they used to
And you can try so hard if you find that you need to
Now I find my way
I'm gonna go with it forever
And if you don't give a way
We can make it together
We'll make it together
[Chorus 2]
Now I find my way
I'm gonna go with it forever
And if you don't give a way
We can make it together
We'll make it together
The Campfire Girls' song Make it is a nostalgic ballad about the changing times and longing for the past. The opening verse is a reflection on the memories of the past - the songs that we used to sing. The singer seems to indicate that there is someone in the background watching; possibly someone they care about but have lost touch with. The chorus ponders the possibility of finding the lost one, but with a touch of regret as they note that songwriting isn't the same anymore. The line "now they don't write the songs like the way that they used to" indicates a sense of loss – the world has changed, and the things that once were treasured are no more.
The second verse continues the reflection on the world's shortcomings, amid what seems to be a dystopian backdrop. It suggests that those in power could have foreseen the consequences of their action, perhaps implying the powerlessness of the people against powerful forces - "when they knew all along that it would be this way." In the chorus, the "if only" statements highlight the singer's helplessness and the lack of control over past events. The song ends on a hopeful note, with the singer finding their way and seeking to reconnect with the past by making it with the lost one.
Overall, Make It is a poignant commentary on the nostalgia and regret that often comes with change, emphasizing the need for human connections and the search for meaning in a rapidly changing world.
