Throw it into the fire
The rats will inherit what's left
They'll decorate and remodel
These rooms that were once
Where we rested our heads
Have crumbled and crashed to the ground
Just stay
(I won't give up, I won't fall)
We won't leave till the roof caves in
Just stay
Knocked off the king from his throne
Called a cheat and a liar
It's true but I'm much better dressed
Fashioned pain from another
These beds that were once
Where we nurtured our young
Have broken and bent from the love
We won't sleep till the lights burn out
Just stay
(I won't give up, I won't fall)
We won't leave till the roof caves in
Just stay
Bridge
So the time will come
When you ask yourself "What have I done?"
There's a place in hell for your friends
We are all doomed
And we are all doomed
And we are all doomed
And we are all doomed
We won't sleep till the lights burn out
Just stay
We won't leave till the roof caves in
Just stay
(I won't give up, I won't fall)
We won't sleep till the lights burn out
Just stay
(Just stay)
We won't give up, we won't fall
(Just stay)
We won't give up, we won't fall
We won't give up, we won't fall
(Just stay)
We won't give up, we won't fall
The opening two lines of the song We Won't Sleep by Can't Swim appear to describe a complete surrender to the circumstances in which the singer has found himself. The phrase "Take everything that you own/Throw it into the fire" suggests an abandoning of possessions and a drastic decision to start over. The next line "The rats will inherit what's left" implies that even the most basic results of the decision will be out of the singer's control, as if the decision has greater consequences than he or she can handle.
The chorus of "We won't sleep till the lights burn out/Just stay" is a declaration of strength, or stubbornness, perhaps even desperation. The line is repeated twice to emphasize that the main character will not give up easily, that he or she has dug in and is prepared to hold on indefinitely.
The bridge "So the time will come when you ask yourself 'What have I done?'" is a subtle reminder that the decisions we make, while perhaps necessary at the time, have lasting consequences. "There's a place in hell for your friends" sounds like an ominous threat, as if the singer is warning those who might have criticized his decision that they will share in whatever fate befalls him. Finally, the repetition of "We won't give up, we won't fall" reinforces the determination of the main character and suggests that his or her resolve is unbreakable.

Rascal Zard Well they had literally formed right before releasing their EP. It'd be weird if they didn't get better from there
