Candlebox was known for an explosive live show and throughout their 8 year career, they toured with such bands as Living Colour, The Flaming Lips, Our Lady Peace, Rush, Henry Rollins, and Metallica. They were also a featured band on the main-stage at Woodstock '94 and made repeat live performances on the David Letterman show.
They are best known for the singles "Change", "You", "Far Behind" and "Simple Lessons". "Far Behind" entered Billboard's Top 20 in July of 1993 and didn't drop off the charts until January of 1994. The videos for "Far Behind" and "You" were in seemingly perpetual rotation on MTV and became two of the most requested videos of 1993.
Drummer Scott Mercado left the band in 1997 and was replaced by former Pearl Jam member Dave Krusen. Krusen later left the band in 1999 and was replaced by Shannon Larkin of Ugly Kid Joe. Bardi Martin also left the band that year, and was replaced by Rob Reddick (formerly of Dig). The band split in year 2000.
As of 2005, singer Kevin Martin is currently recording and performing as the leader of The Hiwatts. Peter Klett is currently recording and performing as the leader of redlightmusic.
In 2006, Candlebox has reunited with their original line-up. They went on a three-month North American tour beginning on July 1st of the same year. This marks their first collaboration since 1996.
In 2008, Candlebox released their fourth studio album called "Into the sun". This meant their return since 1998's Happy Pills. Also, they released a Live album called "Alive in Seattle" which includes tracks from all their past albums.
In 2009, Kevin Martin (along with Sean Hennesy, Candlebox's guitarist) helped form the super-group The Gracious Few with three of the members of the band LIVE. Functioning as lead singer, the band went on to release a self-titled album which accompanied an extensive tour. Though LIVE has reformed with a new lead singer, more material from The Gracious Few is said to be released in the future
10 It's Amazing
Candlebox Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
As I heal you, it's not that much difference, we'll be there.
can't you all see, what it says?
It says ok now, ok now, now you go.
And I think I'll make it,
Because I love, I love you yes you know.
It's amazing, that we're still here.
It's amazing, how?
Why did you leave it in my hands?
I can't explain it,
How can you leave me out,
How can you push me out,
How can you push me, push me around again?
It's amazing, that we're still here
It's amazing, how?
Turn it into my direction,
Why did you leave it, leave it in my hands?
How can you put me down, how can you put me out,
How can you push around, push me around again?
It's amazing...
The lyrics of Candlebox's song "It's Amazing" are about feeling stuck in life and questioning how one ended up in their current situation. The opening line "At a stand still, somebody, somebody put me here" suggests that the singer feels trapped and believes someone else is responsible for their predicament. The second line, "As I heal you, it's not that much difference, we'll be there", seems to indicate that the singer is trying to help someone else, and in doing so, they are able to heal themselves. They are encouraging the other person to see the positive side of things and move forward.
In the chorus, the singer reflects on the fact that they are still here, despite the challenges they have faced. They find it amazing that they have been able to persevere through their struggles. The lyrics suggest that the love and support of another person has been instrumental in helping them through difficult times. In the final verse, the singer expresses frustration at being pushed around and excluded. They ask the question "Why did you leave it in my hands?" and seem to be seeking answers to their situation.
Overall, "It's Amazing" is a song about perseverance, the power of love and support, and questioning one's circumstances. It is a reminder that, despite the challenges we face in life, we are capable of overcoming them with the help of others.

I remember hearing this song on the radio back in 1998. Work had me in Borger, TX. The rock station in Amarillo would play this song. I never heard who the artist was or the title of the song. From then to now I heard it in my head countless times. I finally found it by searching the lyric "It feels like." It was as if this song really did not exist. Seriously, it would drive me nuts trying to find this song!!!

How did this song not do better commercially??? Kind of an indictment of the commercial music industry. 17 years later, it still kicks serious ass. Thanks for loading it up.
