Candlebox was known for an explosive live show and throughout their 8 year career, they toured with such bands as Living Colour, The Flaming Lips, Our Lady Peace, Rush, Henry Rollins, and Metallica. They were also a featured band on the main-stage at Woodstock '94 and made repeat live performances on the David Letterman show.
They are best known for the singles "Change", "You", "Far Behind" and "Simple Lessons". "Far Behind" entered Billboard's Top 20 in July of 1993 and didn't drop off the charts until January of 1994. The videos for "Far Behind" and "You" were in seemingly perpetual rotation on MTV and became two of the most requested videos of 1993.
Drummer Scott Mercado left the band in 1997 and was replaced by former Pearl Jam member Dave Krusen. Krusen later left the band in 1999 and was replaced by Shannon Larkin of Ugly Kid Joe. Bardi Martin also left the band that year, and was replaced by Rob Reddick (formerly of Dig). The band split in year 2000.
As of 2005, singer Kevin Martin is currently recording and performing as the leader of The Hiwatts. Peter Klett is currently recording and performing as the leader of redlightmusic.
In 2006, Candlebox has reunited with their original line-up. They went on a three-month North American tour beginning on July 1st of the same year. This marks their first collaboration since 1996.
In 2008, Candlebox released their fourth studio album called "Into the sun". This meant their return since 1998's Happy Pills. Also, they released a Live album called "Alive in Seattle" which includes tracks from all their past albums.
In 2009, Kevin Martin (along with Sean Hennesy, Candlebox's guitarist) helped form the super-group The Gracious Few with three of the members of the band LIVE. Functioning as lead singer, the band went on to release a self-titled album which accompanied an extensive tour. Though LIVE has reformed with a new lead singer, more material from The Gracious Few is said to be released in the future
Consider Us
Candlebox Lyrics

Defenders of the brittlest of bones
The dressers of the prettiest of clothes
Our time is gonna come but we'll have nowhere to go
[Chorus]
What do we see before we die, is it beautiful?
What do we say to make you cry, is it wonderful?
Baby, how would you feel if we were lying?
Remember us we were the last ones on your mind
Escaper's from the erased and denied
The rest is up to you sinners we've aligned
Our time is on the run, and it's left to us to decide
[Chorus]
What do we see? What do we see?
What do we see? What do we see yeah?
What do we see before we die?
[Chorus]
How would you feel if we were lying?
How would you feel if we were lying?
The opening lines "Consider us the long lonely road, Defenders of the brittlest of bones, The dressers of the prettiest of clothes" suggest that the singer feels like an outcast or a misfit in society. They seem to be taking pride in being different and not fitting into the societal norms. The next line, "Our time is gonna come but we'll have nowhere to go" implies a sense of impending doom, like they know that their fate is sealed, and they will ultimately face the consequences of being different. However, they do not seem to be bothered by this because they feel they have lived their life on their own terms.
The chorus raises several questions - "What do we see before we die, is it beautiful? What do we say to make you cry, is it wonderful? What do I sing to save your life, is it magical?" - These questions make one reflect on the meaning of life and death. The use of words like "beautiful," "wonderful," and "magical" suggest that the singer is looking for something extraordinary or exceptional in life. The following line, "Baby, how would you feel if we were lying?" implies that maybe the singer is not sure of their beliefs and fears that maybe they have been living in denial.
Overall, Consider Us is a song that delves deep into the human psyche and questions the meaning of life, death, and existence itself. The lyrics are open to interpretation, and the listener can find many meanings depending on their experiences and beliefs.

I never thought I'd see the songs of candlebox being so ground breaking as they first were. If there was one band that ever stayed with me so close as I grew this man knows everything that happens. As I fall into the shadows there was no soul around to save me. a bitter end I kept fighting. and to see this music. is everything I've knowen to be true.As I am true to myself I tell others to be the same. becouse you know son that the world always sheds light of curruption to share and poison.
