Candlebox was known for an explosive live show and throughout their 8 year career, they toured with such bands as Living Colour, The Flaming Lips, Our Lady Peace, Rush, Henry Rollins, and Metallica. They were also a featured band on the main-stage at Woodstock '94 and made repeat live performances on the David Letterman show.
They are best known for the singles "Change", "You", "Far Behind" and "Simple Lessons". "Far Behind" entered Billboard's Top 20 in July of 1993 and didn't drop off the charts until January of 1994. The videos for "Far Behind" and "You" were in seemingly perpetual rotation on MTV and became two of the most requested videos of 1993.
Drummer Scott Mercado left the band in 1997 and was replaced by former Pearl Jam member Dave Krusen. Krusen later left the band in 1999 and was replaced by Shannon Larkin of Ugly Kid Joe. Bardi Martin also left the band that year, and was replaced by Rob Reddick (formerly of Dig). The band split in year 2000.
As of 2005, singer Kevin Martin is currently recording and performing as the leader of The Hiwatts. Peter Klett is currently recording and performing as the leader of redlightmusic.
In 2006, Candlebox has reunited with their original line-up. They went on a three-month North American tour beginning on July 1st of the same year. This marks their first collaboration since 1996.
In 2008, Candlebox released their fourth studio album called "Into the sun". This meant their return since 1998's Happy Pills. Also, they released a Live album called "Alive in Seattle" which includes tracks from all their past albums.
In 2009, Kevin Martin (along with Sean Hennesy, Candlebox's guitarist) helped form the super-group The Gracious Few with three of the members of the band LIVE. Functioning as lead singer, the band went on to release a self-titled album which accompanied an extensive tour. Though LIVE has reformed with a new lead singer, more material from The Gracious Few is said to be released in the future
How Does It Feel
Candlebox Lyrics

For all that you've done
The mess you've made
Your allegations
I don't want to blame you
But I need to crackdown
You're essential to the process
And the essence of my breakdown
I can't wait to sell you, to the village of fools
You're a violent hangover, malicious, so cruel
Could you keep it secret?
You couldn't lock it up tight
You're a sea of information
That's spilling out from all sides
I think I might find you
A little clumsy and aloof
Atop a mountain of sand
Unhinged in untruths
How does it feel, upon your throne?
How does it feel, to be all alone?
How does it feel, to crawl so low?
You're the king of nothing, you're just a show
How does it feel?
I will give you no words
Yes, I choose a mute stance
It's hard enough to engage
The smart as well as the ass
You couldn't keep it secret
You couldn't lock it up tight
Cause you're a sea of information
That's bleeding out of the lies
How does it feel, upon your throne?
How does it feel, to be all alone?
How does it feel, to crawl so low?
You're the king of nothing, you're just a show
How does it feel?
One might deceive, one might align
One more disease, yeah, the great divide!
How does it feel, to be on your own?
You are the seed, welcome to the show
Welcome to the show
Welcome to the show
Welcome to the show
Welcome to the show
How does it feel?
Welcome to the show
How does it feel?
The lyrics to Candlebox's "How Does It Feel" seem to be directed towards someone who has caused a lot of chaos and turmoil in the singer's life. The singer acknowledges that this person is "essential to the process," meaning that they played a significant role in their journey, even if it was negative. They express gratitude for what this person has done, but also a need to "crackdown" on their behavior. The idea is that this person is a "sea of information" that is "spilling out from all sides," which suggests that they cannot contain their lies and manipulations.
The singer also seems to be challenging this person's sense of self-importance. They ask how it feels to be on a throne, to be all alone, and to crawl so low. The repeated question of "how does it feel" seems to be a way of drawing attention to the fact that this person's actions have consequences, and that they may not be as grand or powerful as they believe themselves to be. The final line, "welcome to the show," implies that this person is now on display for all to see, and that their true character is being revealed.
Overall, the lyrics of "How Does It Feel" seem to be a cathartic release of frustration towards someone who has caused significant harm. The singer acknowledges that this person played a role in their own development, but also challenges their sense of self-importance and calls attention to the consequences of their actions.

It is a great album. It's currently my favorite ablum from them. Happy pills was my favorite album for the longest time. I've seen them live 5 times. I got my picture taken with Kevin, Adam, and Scott. And they signed all of my cds for me. I wanted to go see them in concert this year. The show was only an hour and a half from here, but I got a really weird vibe that I shouldn't go and I wasn't about to mess with fate. Miss you, how do you feel, and bitches brewing are my fav from this album.
