Their debut album "In The Dream Of The Sea Life" struck the hearts and ears of internet music dorks, and they have been riding a residual wave of praise since. Their sound and their aesthetic is familiar and unique; they smoosh Pet Sounds harmonies through Animal Collective gurgle and approach the aftermath with naivety and wonder. Their music is both classic and totally modern.
Candy Claws explores the wonders of our natural world through the lenses of mid-century lounge music, 60s pop, 70s nature documentary soundtracks, a single 80s drum fill, 90s shoegaze, and modern sampling techniques.
A remastered version of 'In the Dream of The Sea Life' was released on Irish label Indiecater Records on August 4, 2009. A CD version was released on October 26, 2009.

On moss covered
Fallen Tree Bridge
Water opens slowly
Land drifts apart
In dreams
You weave your hand
Through the sunbeam
Tree sound in wind
Or is it the sound
Of water
Follow it to where
c mountain
Is beginning
In "Fallen Tree Bridge" by Candy Claws, the lyrics create a dreamlike atmosphere with vivid imagery. The song seems to depict a tranquil and serene scene where the singer falls asleep on top of a moss-covered fallen tree bridge. The use of "fallen tree bridge" suggests a connection between the natural elements and human constructs, blurring the boundaries between them.
As the singer falls asleep, they are transported into a dream-like state where the water slowly opens and the land drifts apart. This imagery could symbolize a sense of detachment from reality and a merging of the natural and subconscious realms. The mention of "morning singing" evokes a sense of awakening, and the singer interacts with the sunlight by weaving their hand through a sunbeam. This creates a beautiful image of connection with nature and the ethereal qualities of light.
The lyrics continue with the mention of a "tree sound in wind" or the sound of water. This line blurs the distinction between the two and invites the listener to contemplate the interconnectedness of various natural elements. The song concludes with a cryptic line, "Follow it to where c mountain is beginning." This line could imply a journey towards a new beginning or a discovery of something significant, perhaps represented by the symbolism of a mountain.
Overall, "Fallen Tree Bridge" by Candy Claws paints a vivid and mystical picture of a dreamlike atmosphere, blurring the lines between reality and imagination, and inviting contemplation of the interconnectedness of the natural world.
