The more simple reason why Nero was able to step up to Vergil was probably because of battle exhaustion fighting Dante,and the fact that it's been what,an hour or two since he got his body back? Same could be applied for Dante,guy woke up from a long ass nap and had a lot to do,plus:"Not gonna die my ass. That bitch slap nearly killed me".
The Drop Kick mid-flight is probably just for gameplay purposes,but was still cool nonetheless.

Welp, after some long hard consideration, and nodding my head to DMC's sweet soundtracks, I've decided this right here, is my favorite musical piece in the entire series. Now that's not to say the other tracks aren't good, every game has some amazing music perfect for hacking and/or slashing. There's Nelo Angelo's theme from the first game which does an excellent job building up the badass that is Nelo Angelo/Vergil, Dante and Nero both have some great tracks to fight to in DMC 4, and need I even bring up why Bury the Light is good? Hell, even the infamous DMC reboot, for all of it's problems, had some sick beats to slaughter unholy hordes to. But my reason for liking Silver Bullet most is because of its context. The way it starts out with a beautiful, more somber violin piece only to be cut off by a climactic remix of the game's main theme matches so well with the fight between Nero and Vergil. It starts off slower for a moment, Vergil taking charge of the battle and conversation at first, telling Nero to stand down and get out of the way. But before Vergil can get anything else out, Nero cuts him off with a big "FUCK YOU!", changing the soundtrack and unleashing his newfound power. Now Vergil can't really get a word in, Nero is pressing him in battle and taking over the conversation. At this point, Vergil can only respond, as Nero both tells and shows that he will make Vergil accept him. It's such a great moment that wouldn't work without this song and the amazing voice work. In most cases, you could find any other song and play it over the game if you wanted to, and while you'd probably have traded in something great for something... less so, it wouldn't change much about how the game makes you feel. But if you tried that for the final boss against Vergil, you'd be robbing yourself of one of the franchise's most hype moments, where Nero stepped up and showed everyone he'd never be dead weight again. At least, that's my opinion on it. I'm no musician or anything so take this with a grain of salt, it's just how I feel about it. Anyway, thanks for reading my fanboy ramblings and have a nice day.

The fact that Vergil apparently loves classical music makes the song better, it really makes it feel like Nero is putting his dad in his place and forcing him to accept him (by literally making him accept his song).

I also like how the song tricks you by making you think it's going to be tragic and sad before switching gears and hyping you up to beat the fuck out of your piece of shit father. It also fits because Nero is forcibly subverting the tragic ending the two brothers seem determined to keep heading towards.

It feels like the end of something epic, like something long awaited. I know it's used in the final fight but this just hits different. Devil trigger, on the other hand, feels more like a theme song. This song remixing Devil trigger is like how when you finally reach your goal and your life flashes before your eyes. Devil trigger is the memories you have all leading to this very moment. Anybody else feel the same?

Silver Bullet is a work of art. Gameplay, Music, /and/ plot. I don't think I've ever been as hyped. And it still hits. Johnny Yong Bosch and Daniel Southworth /make/ that fight. A whole new theme when you punch your DT? COME OOOOONNNNNNNNNNNNN.

the funniest part of dmc5 vs Dmc:dmc. is how itsuno and his team basically goes "we are so much better than you, we can make a "fuck you" have more emotional weight. and they did it. a simple fuck you ends up being one of the coldest lines. to show neros resentment for being abandoned

Initially. By DMCV, Vergil’s been obsessed for so long he doesn’t even know why he’s fighting anymore. This is made clear when he splits himself in two, and Urizen (Vergil’s Id on a Freudian scale, i.e. his base impulses and wants) completely eclipses Vergil’s emotional and human side, V in almost every way except intellect.

This fucking game came out like 3 or 4 years ago and yet it feels so fresh in my mind, this game may have unironically saved me at a time I was so down, and the DMC series I thought was dead after the awful American version, I was so proud to see Nero grow into the carrier of the series with Dante being haha funny pizza man.
