The song "Like You" by Cara Alessia is about a woman who almost loses herself in a relationship with a man who doesn't truly appreciate her. She begins the song by acknowledging that she almost lost control of herself and forgot who she was for a minute. However, she quickly realizes that she's worth more than that and reminds herself that she shouldn't be taken for granted. She talks about how she doesn't need the man in her life and he shouldn't fill up his void with her parts. She's not willing to hold her breath and wait for him because she knows she deserves better.
In the second half of the song, Cara Alessia talks about how she knows her worth and won't be anybody's second choice. She's too young to care and too old to let it hurt. She's okay with being single and not settling for less than she deserves. The man in the song tells her that he's happy that he found her, but she doesn't believe him. She knows that he's not worth her time, and she won't shed any tears over him because she's been hurt enough to know that she'll be fine.
