Formed in 2005 when Sophie, Izzy, original bassist Lucio Westmoreland, keyboard player August Rosenthal, and guitarist Michael Kokiko were all classmates at Park Slope's Berkeley Carroll School, the band settled on the name Care Bears on Fire as they liked the idea of mixing something sweet with something edgy.
In 2006, Michael and August both departed due to creative differences, before the band managed to get its first big break when New York Magazine did a profile about them in the Summer of the same year. Following the article's publication, the "power-trio" shot into the limelight with outlets such as Spin magazine labeling the group "key players in the burgeoning New York kid-core scene". They went on to release their debut EP, Confuse Me, via Beautiful Records at a show in 2006, which swiftly sold out and paved the way for things to come.
In February 2007 as the buzz about the band began to grow, the aspiring trio made their Manhattan debut at Pianos, in an event which, despite not being advertised as an all-ages show, featured a crowd who were much older than each of the band's members. Shortly after, they began working on new material.
Their debut LP, I Stole Your Animal, followed on 2 October 2007 and received positive reviews from critics, with publications such as Detour stating that, "the songs are catchy, with an earnest rhythm section backing up the same big guitar chords the grownup garage-punk bands use." Following the release, Sophie featured on a 2007 Converse ad (playing an acoustic version of their song "Everybody Else"), while the band played several major festivals and events including the week-long Texas music festival, SXSW, as well as the packed-out Underage Festival in London.
In April 2008, Lucio left the band and was temporarily replaced by LuLu Laurette Landolfi who toured with them for five months (her last show was 4 October 2008). Shortly after, Jena joined the band and played bass on the sessions for their new album, Get Over It, which was released via S-Curve Records on 14 July 2009. While they wrote most of the material themselves, they collaborated on a handful of songs with Adam Schlesinger (Fountains of Wayne) and Travis Clark (We The Kings). The album included a new version of the song "Everybody Else" (produced by Steve Greenberg and S*A*M and Sluggo) which was released as a single in January 2009 via iTunes.
In 2009, the band played the Bamboozle Festival in Spring, toured with The Naked Brothers Band in Summer, and performed two shows on the Kidzapalooza stage at Lollapalooza at Grant Park, Chicago. On 26 August 2009, they made their network television debut on David Letterman with a live performance of their single, "Everybody Else".
The band's latest release came in 2010 with their second EP, Girls Like It Loud, which included a cover version of "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" by Tears for Fears.

Violet
Care Bears On Fire Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Violet's got dreams, you can't take
Violet wants attention which Violet will get
She's up on the wall now, watch her step
What Violet wants Violet gets, Violet gets
What Violet wants, she's not afraid, you can bet
What Violet wants Violet gets, Violet gets
Violet wants to know, what scares you and me?
It makes her laugh, she's a mystery
She leans out the window and waves to me
I wish I saw what Violet can see
What Violet wants Violet gets, Violet gets
What Violet wants, she's not afraid, you can bet
What Violet wants Violet gets, Violet gets
What Violet wants Violet gets, Violet gets
What Violet wants Violet gets, Violet gets
What Violet wants, she's not afraid, you can bet
What Violet wants Violet gets, Violet gets
The lyrics to Care Bears On Fire's song Violet are about a girl named Violet who is a bit of a dreamer and craves attention. She wants the simple pleasures in life like ice cream and cake while harboring bigger dreams that nobody can take away from her. The song suggests that Violet is someone who knows what she wants and isn't afraid to go after it. It also implies that she has a certain power or charm that allows her to get what she wants.
The lyrics take a turn towards the end of the song, with Violet wanting to know what scares other people. This curiosity seems to give her pleasure, making her something of a mystery to those around her. She's depicted as bold and daring, leaning out of the window and waving to the singer, who wishes they could see the world the way that Violet does. Ultimately, the song celebrates Violet's fearless attitude and ambition, suggesting that we should all strive to be a little more like her.

This song is better than 'Everybody else' I think. Its definitely doesn't give me that 'dot dot dot' reaction. I think the best thing a band can do is write at least one song that almost everybody can relate to.
