Remember Me
Carla Lyrics

Just the way I want to
The way I need to
Cos some memories are broken
Cos are some memories are chosen
In and out of my head
In and out of my bed
Now you don't
Remember me
Remember me
I'll remember you
Oh I wanted to go back so bad, so bad
The lyrics of Carla's song Remember Me speak about the struggle of remembering things in a way that matters. The singer wishes to have control over the way she remembers things, but it doesn't always work out. Some memories are broken, while some memories are chosen, and they keep coming in and out of her head and bed. In the chorus, it's revealed that the person the singer is singing about no longer remembers her, but she will always remember them. The line "Oh I wanted to go back so bad, so bad" shows the deep longing the singer feels to relive past memories, even though they may be broken.
The theme of Remember Me is touched upon by many people, especially in the light of advancing age or mental conditions like Alzheimer’s that affect memory. Memory is a treacherous, elusive companion that can be experienced and shared in many ways. The lyrics of Remember Me take listeners on an emotive journey of the singer's experience of memory through the gentle, wistful melody.
