At the age of 5, her family left for Paris. When she was 19, she decided to stop studying art and architecture, to become a full-time model.
She was a very successful fashion model until 1998. Since then she has devoted herself to chanson. Her debut album, Quelqu'un m'a dit, on which she sings in French (despite her Italian origin), was released in 2002. To date it has sold over a million copies across Europe. Her second album, No Promises (this time in English, with songs inspired by famous English-language poets), was released in January 2007.
She married then French president, Nicolas Sarkozy, in the beginning of 2008.
Her music career still did not cease after becoming the First Lady. She released her third album Comme si de rien n'était ("As If Nothing Happened") on 11 July 2008. The songs are self-penned except for one rendition of You Belong to Me and another song featuring a poem by Michel Houellebecq set to music. Royalties from the album will be donated to unidentified charitable and humanitarian cause.
Chez Keith Et Anita
Carla Bruni Lyrics

A Istanbul, avenue du roule,
Sur un atoll, ou dans la foule,
On est là où l'on peut,
A Notre-Dame, au bord du drame,
A Macao, à Birmingham
A Katmandou, à Saint-Étienne,
Sous les verrous, ou à la Madeleine,
On est là où l'on peut,
Mais moi je ne suis pas là,
Non, non, non, non,
Je suis chez Keith et Anita,
Ici tout est tranquille,
Il n'y a pas l'ombre d'un fracas,
Marianne sent la vanille,
Toute de velours et de soie
Comme la vie scintille,
Ici chez Keith et Anita,
Comme la vie scintille,
Ici chez Keith et Anita,
Chez Keith et Anita,
C'était l'été soixante-dix,
Je ne savais rien de tout ça,
Et pourtant je vivais chez Keith,
Chez Keith et Anita,
Chez Keith et Anita
C'était l'été soixante-dix,
J'étais à peine née ma foi,
Et pourtant je vivais chez Keith,
Chez Keith et Anita,
Chez Keith et Anita
C'était l'été soixante-dix.
"Chez Keith Et Anita" by Carla Bruni is a poetic and nostalgic song that evokes the atmosphere of the 1970s, a time of freedom and adventure. The lyrics describe the many places where people can be found, from Paris to Istanbul, from Zanzibar to Dubrovnik, from the bottom of a trash can to the top of the world. The singer, however, is not there, but at the mythical home of Keith Richards and Anita Pallenberg, two icons of the rock and roll scene of the time.
The song is a tribute to the lifestyle of the era, characterized by travels, drugs, music, and love. The lyrics suggest a sense of belonging to a community of like-minded people, who shared a sense of rebellion against social norms and a desire for self-expression. The references to Chopin and harmonicas add to the romantic and bohemian mood of the song.
Overall, "Chez Keith Et Anita" is a wistful and dreamy song that revives the spirit of a bygone era of art and creativity. It invites the listener to indulge in nostalgia and escapism, and to embrace the joy of existing in the present moment.

I love her. People who don't take her seriously as a musician, writer, and singer, need to check out this track. This is not an easy feat to pull off. Her phrasing is great and she also great attitude and style and is very natural.

🙄that is peoples problem. She is a great artist, deeply phylosophic, bringing even old poetry and styles into a new light nowadays, bringing joy, love and light to the humanity....
Even musical peaces are carefully selected, even without poetry, I have great emotions listening just the music.....
And she whispers, exactly like the soul to our concious ears.It s this way I enjoy the artist Carla Brunny, I find my thoughts and feelings in syncrone with her creativity. She creates "dresses", nice dresses for the women and are those type who never get old fashion cos they look beautifu every time......

This song kinda shows that this woman really liveddd, she was a model and traveled to all these places, she was a first lady hence more travelling due to politics or simply because she's rich. She's talking about all these places as if she was there yesterday.. To me she's one of the people who honestly realized most of her dreams in this life
