He was born to José Gonzalo Gilberto Rivera Ramírez and María de Lourdes Guerra Martínez Antonio, on March 15, 1986. Rivera became a local celebrity while still a child, winning several singing contests and hosting a radio show on Radio Huamantla. He rose to fame when he won the third generation of La Academia in 2004 at the age of 18. In 2005 he finally signed with Sony BMG and began plans to record his first album. While doing that he also entered Desafio de Estrellas 2 in which he placed 5th. He also played the role of "Fausto" in the TV Azteca series La vida es una canción ("Life is a song"). He also made a cameo appearance in the serial Los Sánchez. On October 3, 2006, he released his first and eponymous CD/DVD. At 2008, he starring the musical of Broadway Beauty and the Beast in Mexico for a couple of weeks, like a guest acotr. Starting July 2009, Carlos is playing Sky in the Mexico City production of "Mamma Mia!"

Esta canción es como un himno para mi , la escuchaba mucho cuando estaba viviendo el proceso de mi enfermedad, mi tratamiento de Quimioterapia y veía a mi pareja como me cuidaba ,como el manejaba la máquina de mi quimioterapia, pasábamos días solos los dos en una habitación,el me cuidaba ,ambos alejados de nuestros hijos "porque teníamos que viajar a otro pueblo donde yo hacia mi tratamiento, también recuerdo cuando entraba a cirugía y el solito en el hospital"esperándome que yo salga viva de las cirugías , hemos pasado tanto y está canción refleja bastante nuestra historia "siempre juntos en las buenas y en las malas !

Dios te bendiga, mi esposa Yanet no tuvo tanta suerte, nunca perdió la fé en Dios, pero el decidió llevársela con Él. Tantas dias y noches en el hospital junto a ella, pidiéndole a Dios que la sane y me lleve con él. Espero sinceramente que el tratamiento haya resultado para tí. Bendiciones.

Esta canción me hace recordar mi lucha por la vida cuando estaba enfrentando un cáncer de mama con un nivel 7. Sentía morirme pero Al Creador de la vida le agradezco porque ahora tengo la oportunidad de vivir junto a mis hijos hasta un nieto. Soy una persona, tengo sentimientos y emociones, quiero vivir la vida con plenitud. Recuerdo a mi padre y hermanos que lucharon junto a mi y que ahora están en el cielo. Vivamos la gran oportunidad de vivir....
