[Chorus]
Do I Do
Yes, I say
Trust in You, Lord
All the way
Do I Do
Yes, I say
Trust in You
All the way
Daniel was in trouble in the lion's den
But he knew what prayer was all about
Daniel trusted God and he got out again
He didn't doubt, he didn't bend

[Repeat Chorus]

Moses told the pharaoh back in Egypt land
God said,

Overall Meaning

"Let My people Go"
Pharaoh didn't listen and he paid a heavy toll
But Moses trusted God and he took control

[Repeat Chorus]
So you want to be a hero in these modern times
There's a price you have to pay
You must be willing to stand for what is right
Every night and every day

[Repeat Chorus]

Carman's song "Do I Do" is a call to trust in God in times of trouble, just like Daniel and Moses did in the Bible. The chorus repeats the singer's affirmation of his trust in the Lord, no matter what. The first verse mentions Daniel, who was thrown into a lion's den because he refused to pray to the Babylonian king. Despite the danger, Daniel continued to pray to God and was spared by an angel. The second verse references Moses, who was tasked by God to lead the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt. When the Pharaoh refused to let the Israelites go, God sent ten plagues to convince him. Moses stood firm in his faith and eventually led the people to freedom. The last verse is a call to modern-day heroes to stand up for what is right and to trust in God to guide them.
