During the next two decades Carman changed the face of Christian music and evolved contemporary evangelism into what it is today. Carman established "Carman World Outreach," a non-profit organization that helps touch the lives of literally millions of people worldwide. Billboard Magazine recognized Carman's influence in Christian music by first naming him "Contemporary Christian Artist of the Year" in 1990. He has received numerous gold and platinum albums and videos. Even with all this success, the heartbeat of this Champion for Christ continues to beat strong for the souls of people who need Jesus. As an outflow of this passion, Carman had more than 50,000 people attend his "Music for Peace" crusade in Johannesburg, South Africa. These numbers topped the charts as his largest concert crusade ever, until more than 70,000 people packed the legendary Texas Stadium, making it the largest Christian concert in history.
For over 26 years, Carman has entertained, encouraged and preached the Gospel to millions-crossing denominational, cultural and ethnic lines. During this time, he has never compromised the call to take the Gospel to every person.
Carman died on February 16, 2021 (28 days after his 65th birthday) in a Las Vegas hospital, after a series of complications resulting from surgery to repair a hiatal hernia. He was survived by his ex-wife, five stepchildren and ten step-grandchildren.

In the world today
From the heart of Johannesburg
To the ghettos of L.A.
A swelling violent undertow
Has gripped the soul of man
But an integrated cry of hope
I hear my brothers say
Come, everybody, it's time to start
To let the love of Jesus
In your heart
Every tongue and every race
All of God's children seek His face
Praise the Lord, everybody, praise the Lord
Praise the Lord, everybody, praise the Lord
People of promise take your place
Tell of His mercy and His grace
Lift up your voice to the sky
All of God's children testify
Praise the Lord, everybody, praise the Lord
Praise the Lord, everybody, praise the Lord
We worship You because You are Lord and King
We magnify You because You are the One who reigns
We glorify You because You always remain the same
We worship You because You are Lord and King
We magnify You because You are the One who reigns
We glorify You because You always remain the same
Praise the Lord, everybody, praise the Lord
Praise the Lord, everybody, praise the Lord
We got no time for hit and miss
The world is full of prejudice
You know we just ain't down with this, so come on now
Everybody praise the Lord
He inhabits our praises
Sin He erases
He wants to amaze us, so say this
Everybody praise the Lord
[Repeat: x4]
Praise the Lord, everybody, praise the Lord
[Repeat: x6]
Everybody, praise the Lord
Carman’s song Everybody Praise The Lord speaks to the growing root of bitterness in the world today, from Johannesburg to Los Angeles. The violent undertow gripping man’s soul is swelling as prejudice abounds. With all of this tension and anxiety, Carman presents an integrated cry of hope, echoing across the land. It transcends all races, genders, and generations. The singer hears his brothers say that it is time to start letting the love of Jesus in your heart. And so, let there be a unified worship of God no matter what background or culture you come from. Every tongue and every race should seek His face, and all of God’s children should testify to His mercy and grace.
The song's main message is easy to understand as a plea for unity and love in the face of adversity. It calls for collective worship regardless of individual or cultural differences. It urges praise to be given to God, who is the same King, Lord, and ruler of all.
