During the next two decades Carman changed the face of Christian music and evolved contemporary evangelism into what it is today. Carman established "Carman World Outreach," a non-profit organization that helps touch the lives of literally millions of people worldwide. Billboard Magazine recognized Carman's influence in Christian music by first naming him "Contemporary Christian Artist of the Year" in 1990. He has received numerous gold and platinum albums and videos. Even with all this success, the heartbeat of this Champion for Christ continues to beat strong for the souls of people who need Jesus. As an outflow of this passion, Carman had more than 50,000 people attend his "Music for Peace" crusade in Johannesburg, South Africa. These numbers topped the charts as his largest concert crusade ever, until more than 70,000 people packed the legendary Texas Stadium, making it the largest Christian concert in history.
For over 26 years, Carman has entertained, encouraged and preached the Gospel to millions-crossing denominational, cultural and ethnic lines. During this time, he has never compromised the call to take the Gospel to every person.
Carman died on February 16, 2021 (28 days after his 65th birthday) in a Las Vegas hospital, after a series of complications resulting from surgery to repair a hiatal hernia. He was survived by his ex-wife, five stepchildren and ten step-grandchildren.
Just Believe

Ain't always easy
Because there's a price to be paid
We're constantly dying
To our old nature
While new foundations are laid
While we are building our faith Sufficiently he gives his grace
I'm learning dependency
Only so I can be healed
As I see his face
And over and over I'm learning
To put my trust in you
Over and over I'm learning
What child like faith can do
Over and over it's easy to see
Just how you're spirit is working in me
As I grow older I'm learning over
To just believe
Because I am bearing the name of Christian
I'm conscious of what people see
The only bible they may every read
Is what they will read through me
So Lord do you work
Here I am
Oh use my oh God all you can
I'll go where you lead me
And grow as you feed
While holding so tightly your hand
And over and over I'm learning
To put my trust in you
Over and over I'm learning
What child like faith can do
Over and over it's easy to see
Just how you're spirit is working in me
As I grow older I'm learning over
To just believe
As I grow older I'm still learning over
To just believe
To just believe
The song "Just Believe" by Carman is a reflection of the journey of a Christian believer towards spiritual growth. The lyrics suggest that while growing in faith and becoming more Christlike is not always easy, it is a process that requires a constant dying to our old selves, while laying new foundations for the new self. This is a process of transformation that is made possible by God's grace.
The song emphasizes the importance of dependency on God for healing and growth. The line "I'm learning dependency, only so I can be healed, as I see his face" suggests that our growth and transformation are contingent on our willingness to submit ourselves to God and trust in Him. The song also highlights the role of faith in this journey, noting that over and over, the believer learns to put their trust in God and see the workings of the Holy Spirit in their lives.
Finally, the song acknowledges the importance of being a witness to others. As Christians, we bear the name of Christ, and people are constantly watching us, reading the "bible" of our actions and words. The song encourages us to allow God to use us to do His work, as we grow in our faith and live lives that reflect the love of Christ.
Overall, "Just Believe" is a declaration of faith and a call to action, urging Christians to depend on God, trust in Him, and live lives that reflect His love and grace.
