During the next two decades Carman changed the face of Christian music and evolved contemporary evangelism into what it is today. Carman established "Carman World Outreach," a non-profit organization that helps touch the lives of literally millions of people worldwide. Billboard Magazine recognized Carman's influence in Christian music by first naming him "Contemporary Christian Artist of the Year" in 1990. He has received numerous gold and platinum albums and videos. Even with all this success, the heartbeat of this Champion for Christ continues to beat strong for the souls of people who need Jesus. As an outflow of this passion, Carman had more than 50,000 people attend his "Music for Peace" crusade in Johannesburg, South Africa. These numbers topped the charts as his largest concert crusade ever, until more than 70,000 people packed the legendary Texas Stadium, making it the largest Christian concert in history.
For over 26 years, Carman has entertained, encouraged and preached the Gospel to millions-crossing denominational, cultural and ethnic lines. During this time, he has never compromised the call to take the Gospel to every person.
Carman died on February 16, 2021 (28 days after his 65th birthday) in a Las Vegas hospital, after a series of complications resulting from surgery to repair a hiatal hernia. He was survived by his ex-wife, five stepchildren and ten step-grandchildren.

Now's the time to celebrate when the Lord's your choice
Now's the time to celebrate and make a joyful noise
Now's the time to celebrate when the Lord's your choice
Now's the time to celebrate and make a joyful noise
Here is the jam going cross the land
And a jam that I think you know
Now this book called Psalm may look all calm
But it's anything y'all, but mild
It's all about praise when the big band plays
And it makes the saints go wild
[Chorus]
Bring the glory down with the trumpet sound
Let the tambourine kick, too
With the harp and the lyre everyone can hear
How the praise of the Lord will come through
The strings, the bass, the cymbals clash
And the people clap their hands
The spirit's right and with all their might
Everyone starts to dance
[Chorus]
Let the people sing, let the people dance
Let the people sing, lifting holy hands
Let the people sing, let the people dance
Let the people sing, lifting holy hands
[Chorus]
The song "Now's The Time" by Carman is a joyful and celebratory song that encourages believers to celebrate and make a joyful noise to the Lord. The lyrics express the idea that now is the time to celebrate the Lord and worship him with all our might. The chorus repeats the phrase "Now's the time to celebrate when the Lord's your choice, now's the time to celebrate and make a joyful noise," emphasizing the urgency and importance of praising God.
The lyrics mention the book of Psalms, noting that while it may look calm, it's actually all about praise, particularly when the big band plays, and that it makes the saints go wild. The song then moves into a description of an energetic jam that's going across the land, a groove on the move that's heard from the Word called the 1-5-0. The song then encourages the use of various musical instruments, including the trumpet, tambourine, harp, and lyre, to help bring the glory down.
The final lines of the song repeat the phrase "let the people sing, let the people dance, let the people sing, lifting holy hands," emphasizing once again the importance of celebrating and worshiping the Lord with joy and enthusiasm.
Overall, the song is an upbeat and lively call to worship that encourages believers to express their love and adoration for God through music and celebration.
