During the next two decades Carman changed the face of Christian music and evolved contemporary evangelism into what it is today. Carman established "Carman World Outreach," a non-profit organization that helps touch the lives of literally millions of people worldwide. Billboard Magazine recognized Carman's influence in Christian music by first naming him "Contemporary Christian Artist of the Year" in 1990. He has received numerous gold and platinum albums and videos. Even with all this success, the heartbeat of this Champion for Christ continues to beat strong for the souls of people who need Jesus. As an outflow of this passion, Carman had more than 50,000 people attend his "Music for Peace" crusade in Johannesburg, South Africa. These numbers topped the charts as his largest concert crusade ever, until more than 70,000 people packed the legendary Texas Stadium, making it the largest Christian concert in history.
For over 26 years, Carman has entertained, encouraged and preached the Gospel to millions-crossing denominational, cultural and ethnic lines. During this time, he has never compromised the call to take the Gospel to every person.
Carman died on February 16, 2021 (28 days after his 65th birthday) in a Las Vegas hospital, after a series of complications resulting from surgery to repair a hiatal hernia. He was survived by his ex-wife, five stepchildren and ten step-grandchildren.

@Joe Omundson I'm afraid I have to disagree with you from personal experience. I have a rather unusual backstory where my faith is concerned. You see I never had anyone to lead me to the Lord. My parents were atheists and my grandparents were Lutheran.
I have a fairly high IQ and it was always obvious to me that the odds of the world just happening as it existed were so astronomical that it was essentially impossible. I KNEW that intelligent design was the only possible plausible explanation. I studied and examined every religion and belief system I could find for 3 years before I came to the realization that the only explanation for what I observed was the one in the Bible. It wasn't the only brand of scripture that I examined, but it was the only one that ticked all the boxes that had to be ticked to convince me it was the genuine article.
I was 11 when I asked Jesus to be my Savior, and I received the Holy Spirit at that time too. I know that's not always the case with some Christians, but it WAS with me. I had no expectations, since I had no one to tell me what to expect, or even to explain what was happening to me. At best I had heard some vague Lutheran doctrine on the subject, but not even much where THAT was concerned, since I had not been through the catechism, where such things were taught.
I was filled with the Spirit, including speaking in tongues, and the ability to see (as shadow figures) what was going on in the spirit realm. I poured over the Bible for insight into what I was experiencing, and found everything there. This was confirmation to me that these were both real and normal experiences. The Bible was mirroring everything I was experiencing exactly.
It ALSO reassured me that God was greater than any of the evil in the world, and promised that, as a Christian, I had the SAME authority Jesus did. Not because I had any PERSONAL authority, but because I had been given the right to exercise, what amounted to Jesus' power of attorney, in the spirit realm. And this through the Blood of the Lamb (Jesus' proxy), and the word of my testimony. Because you can argue with a theory or a concept, but there's no arguing with an experience.
I have never been afraid of the demonic, disgusted and appalled, absolutely, but it had no power over me as a Christian, so why fear it?
