Fruta Elétrica
Carne Doce Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
A cerca elétrica
The lyrics of Carne Doce’s song “Fruta Elétrica” refer to the idea of not letting something go to waste, in this case, a fruit tree growing too close to an electric fence. The singer advises to remove the tree, fearing the damage that could be caused if a fruit falls onto it. The song also explores the idea of missed opportunities and the importance of taking risks to taste the unknown. The reference to the fruit being electric implies that it is electrically charged and may pose a danger to anyone who touches it, further enhancing the sense of excitement and risk involved in trying it.
The lyrics may also be interpreted as a metaphor for living life to the fullest, and not being held back by fear or hesitation. The phrase “e se?” (and if?) is repeated throughout the song, emphasizing the importance of considering the consequences of actions or inactions. The idea of a “fruit that lasts” may represent the promise of long-lasting memories or experiences, while the risk of electrical shock may represent the potential harm or danger that can accompany such experiences.
Overall, “Fruta Elétrica” is a thought-provoking song that encourages listeners to seize life's opportunities and try new things, even if there is a risk involved, and to not let things go to waste.
