@HoyaSaxaSD is it really the discussing politics that is a problem? I don’t know that I love not being able to talk about certain truths, that affect society and the world (politics).
I grew up in a time where we didn’t talk about a lot...and yeah, social media seems to bring out the worst...but not talking about things, being fake, isn’t better.

How about we learn to not be so offensive and/or offended? How about we learn HOW to talk about things we disagree about. Isn’t that true maturity and evolution? Too many people are so intertwined with their beliefs and over identified with them, they take any disagreement very personally. It’s this ego at the helm, that is the problem. People need to learn to listen, see others as human, validate others experience and perspective (without having to agree). Why can’t we offer this more conscious way of being? Curiosity instead of judgment. Instead of personalizing a different opinion, seeing the other person and opinions in context of their experiences...which aren’t about us!

We won’t grow or evolve politically, as humans, if we can’t talk about the difficult things in life. Owning our beliefs, while still respecting others. Too many are so afraid of conflict and so avoidance becomes the solution.
You have to communicate about things, for things to change, get better, to reach understanding.

I have NO problem talking about politics, as long as it’s an open and learning opportunity.

Her parents raised them. She even admitted that in retrospect she wishes that she spent more time with her kids.

She considered herself a jazz player. The rock and roll studio sessions were used to pay the bills.
