Sweet Essence (You're Love Is Something)
Somebody asked me how I knew
Oh you were the one for me baby
And I was the one for you
I never had to ask myself that question why
Your love is something that I know is mine
Your love is something that I feel inside
Oh every day I thank the Lord above
For the sweet essence of your love
Oh I know this love is meant to be
You are the biggest part of me
Deeper than the deepest ocean
Oh, I take pride in knowing
That I got you by my side
Every waiting, ever standing by, oh
Your love is something that I know is mine
Your love is something that I can't deny
Your love is something that I feel inside
Not an hour out of a million days
No, no, no, no, no
Could you ever take your sweet love away
Not a one day out of a million years, oh
Could I ever live without you here, oh
Inside, every day I thank the Lord above
For the sweetness of your love
Kindness of your love
Patience of your love
One and only lover
Never be another, oh
Your love is something that I know is mine
Your love is something that I can't deny
Your love is something that I feel inside
Feel inside
Oh yeah, babe

After the Greatest Decade for music , βThe 70βsβ especially if you loved Disco ,Soul ,Jazz Funk !
But just generally if you had or now have! a eclectic taste in music .... it really was the place to be with so many genres , fads & fashions we had throughout the decade , especially here in Blighty
It all pinnacled IMO in 1980 after disco had supposedly died a few months earlier in the US πΊπΈit didnβt here in the U.K. it just generally eliminated the dross that had swamped the Disco scene & charts
If you remember virtually ever Artist or Band had jumped on its Bandwagon ( Rod Stewart , Paul McCartney, The Stones you name it they all release disco tracks )
the record companies were churning out endless amounts of the stuff to cash in with the masses , but as quick as it came to those ppl , it as quickly disappeared .... apart from the cream that is ππ» , unfortunately probably the Best of all the Disco & Dance music producing bands was CHIC but they got engulfed in the backlash too & went down with it , although we all know what happened next ! with Niles Rodgers & Bernard Edwards becoming a sought after production team they were amazing producers so weβre actually also producing a plethora of superstars right now ( end of 79β start of 80β .. Sister Sledge, Diana Ross ,Debbie Harry , Sheila B. to name a few ... right at at the end of the 70βs as Chic weee disappeaing down the plug hole their sound was still living on in many of those named above BUT even more top top bands & artists in the next coming years would want them sprinkling their magic over their tracks .. Madonna , Bowie , Duran Duran
But amazingly all those other Funk , Disco & Dance producers had upped their anti too so what followed in the next year & half was the Greatest concentration Time of Dance music everrrrrr , not forget ALL those gems that had already been released in the last decade Hereβs the combined result of those couple of years either side of 1980 all in one BRILLIANT MIX ( IMO ) π€πΆπΆπΆππ»
on Spotify if you use ! ππ»ππ

Lyrics of this 70βs masterpiece : π₯
Love is you
You're its smile
Love is you
You're its child
You taught me what it is
To be somebody
You gave life to a useless
Wand'ring body
Oh, love, love is you
You're its smile
Love is you
You're its child
You touched me and I saw
Gods in heaven
Now I know, I'll stay
With you forever
(Love is, love is you
You're its smile
Love is, love is you
You're its child)
Love is you (love is you)
You're its smile
Love is you (love is you)
You're its child
Love, I don't wanna walk away
I just wanna stay
Though you brought me love, I don't know
What to do or say
So stay with me and we can try
To make it together, you and I
Love is here and all I know
I know you and I
What about the look in your eyes?
I know I just want you to be part of mine
Oh, love is you
You're its smile
Love, you've got me
I'm your own
What you're gonna do?
Where you wanna go?
Who you wanna go with?
I just wanna know
(Love is, love is you
You're its smile
Love is, love is you
You're its child)
