King's major success began in the 1960s when she and her first husband, Gerry Goffin, wrote more than two dozen chart hits, many of which have become standards, for numerous artists. She has continued writing for other artists since then. King's success as a performer in her own right did not come until the 1970s, when she sang her own songs, accompanying herself on the piano, in a series of albums and concerts. After experiencing commercial disappointment with her debut album Writer, King scored her breakthrough with the album Tapestry, which topped the U.S. album chart for 15 weeks in 1971 and remained on the charts for more than six years.
King has made 25 solo albums, the most successful being Tapestry, which held the record for most weeks at No. 1 by a female artist for more than 20 years. Her record sales were estimated at more than 75 million copies worldwide. She has won four Grammy Awards and was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. She has been inducted twice into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, as a performer and songwriter. She is the recipient of the 2013 Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song, the first woman to be so honored. She is also a 2015 Kennedy Center Honoree.

Will You Love Me Tomorrow
Carole King Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
You give your love so sweetly
Tonight the light of love is in your eyes
But will you love me tomorrow?
Is this a lasting treasure
Or just a moment's pleasure
Can I believe the magic of your sighs
Tonight with words unspoken
You say that I'm the only one
But will my heart be broken
When the night meets the morning sun?
I'd like to know that your love
Is love I can be sure of
So tell me now and I won't ask again
Will you still love me tomorrow?
Will you still love me tomorrow?
Carole King's song "Will You Love Me Tomorrow" is a timeless classic about the uncertainty of love. In the first verse, the singer expresses feeling adored at the present moment, but wonders if this feeling will last. The next verse explores the concept of something being a "lasting treasure" versus a "moment's pleasure." There is doubt and trepidation about whether or not the connection between the two people is genuine, and if their love will stand the test of time.
In the final verse, the singer lays out their fears in a straightforward manner. They want to know if the other person truly loves them and if that love can be relied on. The repetition of the final line, "Will you still love me tomorrow?" drives home the singer's insecurity and their desire to have their fears assuaged.
The theme of the song is relatable and has remained relevant through the years since its release. It speaks to the vulnerability, anxiety, and uncertainty that often accompany new relationships, especially when one's heart is on the line.

The cover gave a new modern take on the song. It shows music is timeless. The originals would stay to be the best but it doesn't mean the new covers were inferior. Taylor's cover was MAGNIFICENT!
