Home For The Holidays
Carpenters Lyrics

Oh, there's no place like home for the holidays
For no matter how far away you roam
When you long for the sunshine of a friendly gaze
For the holidays, you can't beat home, sweet home

I met a man who lives in Tennessee, and he was headin' for
Pennsylvania and some homemade pumpkin pie
From Pennsylvania, folks are travelin' down to Dixie's sunny shore
From Atlantic to Pacific
Gee, the traffic is terrific

Oh, there's no place like home for the holidays
'Cause no matter how far away you roam
If you want to be happy in a million ways
For the holidays, you can't beat home, sweet home

I met a man who lives in Tennessee and he was headin' for
Pennsylvania and some homemade pumpkin pie
From Pennsylvania, folks are travelin' down
To Dixie's sunny shore
From Atlantic to Pacific
Gee, the traffic is terrific

Oh, there's no place like home for the holidays
'Cause no matter how far away you roam
If you want to be happy in a million ways
For the holidays, you can't beat home, sweet home
For the holidays, you can't beat home, sweet home

(There's No Place Like) Home for the Holidays
The Carpenters

Oh, there's no place like home for the holidays,
For no matter how far away you roam
When you long for the sunshine of a friendly gaze,
For the holidays - you can't beat home, sweet home

I met a man who lives in Tennessee, and he was headin' for
Pennsylvania and some homemade pumpkin pie
From Pennsylvania folks are travelin' down to Dixie's sunny shore
From Atlantic to Pacific
(g) Gee, the traffic is terrific

Oh there's no place like home for the holidays,
'Coz no matter how far away you roam
If you want to be happy in a million ways,
For the holidays - you can't beat home, sweet home

Take a bus, take a train, go and hop an aeroplane
Put the wife and kiddies in the family car
For the pleasure that you bring when you make that doorbell ring
No trip could be too far

oh there's nothing like quarantine for the holidays
cause no matter how far back you stay
if you want to stay safe for the holidays
For the holidays you can't beat quarantine

I met a man who lives in New York City he was hell bent on getting to Vegas to catch a strange new bug
from Los Angeles folks are travelin to places they never wanted
from Europe to Australia the spread is terrific

Oh there's nothing like quarantine for the holidays
cause no matter how much you wash your hands
if you want to not be the millionth death
For the holidays you can't beat quarantine

Skip the bus, skip the train, don't go near an airport,
Get the family on zoom

For the pleasure that you bring
keeping everyone safe

No one is too far

I listen to this for Thanksgiving because it never actually say Christmas in it.
(And its an excuse to listen to Christmas music before Thanksgiving)

Brian Smith

@Steve Churchill Well traditionally New Year's is still part of Christmas you ever wonder why there is a song that says the 12 days of Christmas well that is not the 12 days leading up to Christmas it is the 12 days leading up to the epiphany after Christmas which is traditionally how long the Christmas season lasted so technically it is still Christmas until January 5th
