Carrie Underwood's quote on So Small:
“ "So Small" is a feeling song on how people invest so much of their time and energy into things that aren't really important, and you don't really realize that until it's too late. We're all guilty of it, as I know I am, of just letting silly things get in the way. The smallest thing can almost ruin my day, and at some point, I realize, 'Good gracious, Carrie! What are you doing?' I have a great life, and we need to remember the things that are truly important.
American Idol season 8 finalist Matt Giraud performed this song during Grand Ole Opry week.
"So Small" debuted at No. 20 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs on August 9, 2007, making the highest chart entry by a solo country female artist in 43 years of Nielsen BDS history. The song subsequently debuted at No. 13 on the Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles on the same day. It made its debut entry in the Hot 100 at 98 two weeks later. It jumped 76 positions on the Hot 100 in its third week on the chart, from 93 to 17, with 71,000 digital downloads, becoming Underwood's fifth top twenty hit on the chart.

What you got if you ain't got love
The kind that you just want to give away
It's okay to open up
Go ahead and let the light shine through
I know it's hard on a rainy day
You wanna shut the world out and just be left alone
'Cause sometimes that mountain you've been climbing
Is just a grain of sand
And what you've been out there searching for forever
Is in your hands
And when you figure out love is all that matters after all
It sure makes everything else seem so small
It's so easy to get lost inside
A problem that seems so big at the time
It's like a river that's so wide it swallows you whole
While you're sittin' 'round thinking 'bout what you can't change
And worrying about all the wrong things
Time's flying by, moving so fast
You better make it count 'cause you can't get it back
Sometimes that mountain you've been climbing
Is just a grain of sand
And what you've been out there searching for forever
Is in your hands
Oh, and when you figure out love is all that matters after all
It sure makes everything else
Seem so small, yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
Sometimes that mountain you've been climbing
Is just a grain of sand
And what you've been out there searching for forever
Is in your hands
Oh-oh, and then you figure out love is all that matters after all
It sure makes everything else
Oh, it sure makes everything else
Seem so small
Yeah, yeah
Carrie Underwood's song "So Small" is about the importance of love and its impact on our lives. The lyrics suggest that sometimes we get lost in our problems and forget what truly matters. The verse "what you've been out there searching for forever is in your hands" is a reminder that love is within our grasp if we only choose to let it shine through. The song emphasizes that even on a rainy day, we should not lose faith and should keep climbing the "mountain" that sometimes seems insurmountable.
The lyrics go on to describe how trivial our worries can be in the grand scheme of things. The chorus suggests that once we realize that love is all that matters, everything else seems small in comparison. The song encourages listeners to seize the moment and live life to the fullest because time flies by quickly and we can't get it back. Overall, "So Small" encourages us to focus on what truly matters and to prioritize love above all else.

Making your world Seem Small (or rather make yourself BiG) is a new spin on ‘ye shall be as gods.’ Be wary of music that doesn’t specifically glorify Christ. Carries also gets Southbound. Loving others is delimited by the command to Love God above all others! Test the Spirits!

Yea these lyrics are hitting me hard right now. In November my daughter gave birth to her first child and she was born with 3 of the most rare heart defects a baby could be born with. It’s hard as hell spent our first 2 months with the baby in PCICU she has to have a total of 3 open heart surgeries. It’s been hell and my daughter is now dealing with severe depression and postpartum. My wife and I are trying to take most the burden from her cause we know what she is going through. We have 3 grains of sand to climb now a 4th with my daughters depression. She took off last night shut her phone off and wouldn’t answer the phone so we thought the worst. I sent her this song and she came home a few hours later she was crying and said she is alone. This tune got her to turn and come back home. Cause she has to know she ain’t climbing this mountain alone. We are here we will always be here I just hope she can find peace and know we’ll never leave her side. We’re all in this togather. It don’t help that the scumbag baby daddy is rejecting this child I’m bout ready to put a bullet in his head. He’s part the reason she’s in the state of depression she’s in. Not sure what more I can do. Just hope she can see that we’re here always and forever in her corner.

I'm a soon to be divorced disabled fragile adult.I've been abandoned by my husband. I can barely walk but this reminds me that i can climb any mountain. There's nothing too tall that God and I cant overcome. Love is the most powerful thing in the universe. Never let anyone tell you different.
UPDATE: I can no longer walk so Jesus is carrying me.
