Rosalie, my dream.
Since one night when stars danced above,
I'm oh, oh, so much in love,
So Rosalie, have mercy.
Rosalie, don't decline.
Won't you make my life thrilling
And tell me you're willing to be mine,

Gibbons’ light touch and Melachrino’s vocal perfectly suit this ‘throwaway’ Cole Porter song. The other side is fabulous too!

I think Melochrino could have had a good career as a crooner. A great reedman too before he strayed from the righteous path!

Andy LeMaitre Absolutely! But at least we have a superb series of his vocals with Carroll Gibbons to enjoy…

Imagine being taken to London by a family member and treated to tea at the Savoy, you walk into the foyer and hear this echoing through from the ballroom (not that I've ever been near the place!) it would have such an impact on a young mind - or an older one - so stylish, so rhythmic and a balm to the ears. In these rough times of 2020 it's so good to revisit these aerated moments of bliss from another world, another time, which was also rough but still seemed to manage to come up with music like this. Thanks for the uplifting moments Andy! A tonic for the times.

You paint a beautiful picture Gavin, of a time when music was wonderful and hearts were sincere.

A splendid treatment! After Noble's, Gibbons' is my favorite Brit band -- yes, I know that Gibbons himself was a Yank.
