The band consists of friends Luciano Preza (lead vocals), André Silveira (right guitar and vocals), Otávio Silveira (bass), Pedro Petracco (drums), and Melão Todt (left guitar).

Cartolas makes an ironic, happy and vigorous rock. They can mix Interpol with Kinks with Strokes with Who with Supergrass with Beatles with Franz Ferdinand in the same track – and you may even find Chico Buarque influence in their lyrics.
