Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Cartoon Planet's song Don't Touch Me are short and repetitive but carry a deeper meaning. The main character, Brak, is repeating the phrase "Don't touch me" multiple times. This can be interpreted in a few different ways. Firstly, it could be viewed as a message about personal boundaries. The insistence on not being touched shows the importance of respecting people's physical space and privacy. This is particularly relevant in today's world, where many people are more aware of the need to respect others' boundaries.

Another way to look at the lyrics is to interpret them as a plea for emotional space. By repeating the same phrase over and over, Brak could be expressing a desire for others to give him some space emotionally. This could be because he is going through a challenging time and needs time to process his feelings. It could also be that he simply prefers to keep a certain distance from people, and the repetition is his way of enforcing this preference.

In conclusion, the lyrics to Cartoon Planet's song Don't Touch Me are simple but meaningful, reminding us of the importance of respecting people's boundaries and emotional space.

I like how Space Ghost re-imagined Brak as a dimwitted weirdo who shouts whatever abstract thoughts cross his mind. The show had such fun character dynamics, especially with all the principal characters being bored co-workers who were mutually resentful of having to work with one another.

Not so much re-imagined, as updated. From what I recall, within the story of the Space Ghost talk show, they had an explanation that at the close of the old cartoon's run, Brak was thought to be dead, but had just been rendered an idiot when, according to him..."piranha mites ate my brain".

@@ShaDHP23 "...In response to a viewer's letter read on an episode of Cartoon Planet, Brak revealed that his current level of stupidity was the result of being thrown into a space dust cloud by Space Ghost at the end of "The Lure". Cartoon Network's write-up for Brak explained: "This toothy, mask-wearing former pirate made his first TV appearance on Space Ghost. It was during this adventure that Brak was irradiated by Pirranamyte, releasing him from the burden of intelligence...."
As Brak himself says, "piranhamytes ate my brain".
