Forget About You

Scratchin' at my wounds
Always in tune
Love came too soon
And in the morning, I saw the wave
Wasn't it something
And you say you don't need me
Forget about you
Had a feelin' it would come to this
Stitches always breaking
Every sound that you make
Keeps me awake
And in the morning, I saw the gaze
It wasn't a comfort
And you say you don't need me
And you say you want to breathe
Forget about you
Forget about all this life we have
We were the unseen
And I don't regret the days
Wasn't it something
Forget about you
The song "Forget About You" by Cary Brothers is a heart-wrenching portrayal of a broken relationship. The opening lines, "Wide awake, fall again, scratching at my wounds, always in tune, love came too soon" express the pain and struggle of trying to move on from a past love. The singer is struggling to forget about someone who they loved deeply but now knows it wasn't meant to be.
The chorus, "Forget about you" is a desperate plea to move on and forget about the past love, but the pain is still there, and the memories keep haunting them. The second verse goes on to talk about how the wounds keep opening up, and every sound their ex-lover makes keeps them awake. The singer realizes that it was a mistake to love too soon and wishes they could go back and change things.
The song's melancholic tone is enhanced by the use of acoustic guitar and soft vocals. The lyrics are simple yet effective in conveying the heartbreak and pain of a failed relationship. "Forget About You" is a poignant reminder that moving on is not always easy, and sometimes we need to face the reality of what once was and let go.
