You left me drownin' in the tears of memory
And ever since you've gonna I found it hard to breathe
'Cause there was so much that your heart just couldn't see
A thousand ways that dreams are rollin' off my eyes
But times been healin' me and I say goodbye
'Cause I can breathe again, dream again
Like it used to be the other day
Now I feel free again, so innocent
'Cause someone makes me whole again for sure
I'll find another you
Could you imagine someone else is by my side
I've been afraid he couldn't keep myself from fallin'
My heart was always searching for a place to hide
Could not await the dawn to bring another day
You're not the only one so hear me when I say
The thoughts of you, they just fade away
'Cause I can breathe again, dream again
I'll be on the road again
Like it used to be the other day
Now I feel free again, so innocent
'Cause someone makes me whole again for sure
I'll find another you
Sometimes I see you when I close my eyes (whoa)
You're still apart of my life
But I can breathe again, dream again
I'll be on the road again
Like it used to be the other day
Now I feel free again, so innocent
'Cause someone makes me whole again for sure
I'll find another you, mmh
Oh, I'll find another you
In Cascada's song "Another You," the lyrics describe the aftermath of a breakup and the journey towards finding a new love. The singer explains the pain of loneliness and the difficulty of letting go of memories that continue to haunt her. The line "So many times I was alone I couldn't sleep" portrays the anguish of post-heartbreak insomnia. Meanwhile, the line "You left me drownin' in the tears of memory" conveys the overwhelming sadness at trying to move on.
Despite everything, the singer discovers that time has been healing her, and she learns to say goodbye to the past. This is when she experiences the freedom of being alone and the joy of finding someone new who makes her feel whole again. The line, "I'll find another you" implies hope for a new relationship, free from the pain of the past.
Even though the memories of her ex still haunt her even in her dreams, the singer holds on to the promise of a brand new love that could come to her. The song stands as a declaration of moving on in confidence, taking steps towards a new chapter of love.
