There is no turning back
My fucking choice is made
I'm gonna fight forever
No one can stop me from
Living my own life
I'm gonna stay straight edge
Until the day I die
My fucking choice is made
Forever straight edge
Until the day I die
Forever straight edge
No one can stop me
Forever straight edge
The time is now to make
My fucking mark
The lyrics of Cast Aside's song Take Control speak to the idea of living one's life on one's own terms and not allowing others to dictate what should or should not be done. The singer of the song has made the decision to remain "straight edge," or abstain from drugs and alcohol, and declares that this is a choice that will last until the day they die. They are resolute in their determination to take control of their life and make their own mark on the world.
The repetition of "forever straight edge" further emphasizes the singer's commitment to their lifestyle and the strength of their convictions. The phrase "no one can stop me" reinforces the idea that the singer is in control of their own destiny and will not be swayed by the opinions or actions of others. The final line, "the time is now to make my fucking mark," emphasizes the urgency with which the singer views their desire to take control and leave their mark on the world.

The part about this scene that gets me emotional is how the friend is there just listening to him talk. He doesn't say anything, he just listens to him. He lets him talk and vent and cry. You can tell that Chuck just showed up unannounced. It looks like his friend is in pajamas. But none of that matters. He knows that Chuck needs him. That, to me, is so moving. That is a real friend.
Vanessa Steele
I love that.
It also struck me that he was behaving like Wilson in a way by just listening. Except this time, Chuck was talking to a person and not a volleyball.
Maria Lisa
@Vanessa Steele wow.. I honestly never thought to look at it that way. That is an incredible connection!
