But the solos made sense, because they had Ricky and Howie the beasts go against one another. Then Carlos and the French Dude (Srry forgot his name) the two Lumiéres and then Lily and Ashlyn the two belles. So In order for EJ to have a Solo it would have to be Gaston vs Gaston. But I still enjoyed this performance and loved the twist that Howie was the beast

I completely agree. North High probably knew that Gina was the strongest asset so they did the dance-off while she was in a constricting outfit. Obviously Lilly knew since she saw East High’s HSM. And from a strategic standpoint, I applaud them. They put all the most flexible dancers against the people who weren’t dancing at their 100% best, and the best singers in the end, where chances are East High lost hope and just wanted it to be over.

Nah, the writers wanted North High to win. This is supposed to be a big loss for the main cast, that’s why Carlos and Seb didn’t do much solo dancing and Gina was kind of on her own here. They’re trying to build North High up so that when East High wins, it’ll be more satisfactory.

Comment of appreciation for Ricky’s realistic cautious yet still phenomenal vocals at the beginning.
Big Red’s “The Way” and whoever (I assume Lily) sang the soprano notes on “Praise the Lord and here we go”
Just Bc I looove all those parts and they’re easily overshadowed by comments on how epic Carlos, Howie, Andrew and Ashlyn were

Also I know we all wanted EJ to have a bigger part, but his bass is super clear and does complete all the group sounds. So it’s not like u don’t hear him at all. AND I do think all the solos in the song fit perfectly so I get why they didn’t have room to fit him in anywhere. I think it’s perfect as is. Just wish there was more so he could have a bit.

I also liked in the first episode when Nini was telling Ricky how she met a new guy over the summer, Kourtney kept butting in the conversation and she said “oh snap” and Big Red looked at her and she’s looking at him like “hmmm why you lookin at me” and then she said “POP OFF GIRL!” AND I DIEDDDD 😂 I had to keep watching that over and over. Also the part where Big Red was like “Wait you went to librarian camp?” Like wtf it’s so funny and random 😂

I AGREE TO ALMOST ALL OF THIS!!! Well. Except the Gina part. I really believe that gina really needed to be in a dress to kinda nerf east high a bit and make north high look good. It's ironic how everyone hates 'The Mob Song' except EJ and yet he didn't have any solo throughout this performance especially knowing that he's playing Gaston. Also, they should have brought their legit dancers like Rico and the others and they would totally beat the North High kids. They wasted Gina's talent on this number. I know Sofia Wylie can do so much better than that in real life. Or maybe the writers intentionally did this so the audience can feel the threat from North High kids. But I still enjoyed this musical number since we barely see the cast dance and it's refreshing to see them all dance in uniform.

Also, does anyone have any idea what Asher Angel's character would be? I kinda hope he'll be Nini's new love interest in the future or at least a friend since I also want Nini to be single for a long time. Ricky needs to get a character development before jumping into another relationship. Gina and Nini deserve better than the Ricky version right now. Ricky's parents are horrible based on how they are portrayed in this show and it's affecting their son.

what i’m thinking is at some point in the series nini and ricky break up. this might make nini go back to YAC, since lily says they wouldn’t be able to continue with the rose idea and she wanted to come back for ricky as well. i think that is where asher’s character might come in as, like you said, a potential love interest or added friend to nini at YAC. i doubt this would actually happen though, since having nini going back and forth between salt lake and denver is extremely unrealistic but it’s nice to try and guess lol

I guess what I'm trying to say when I said that Ricky's parents are horrible is when both his Dad and Mom are kind of insensitive or sometimes do selfish things without thinking first how their son would react with their decisions especially during Season 1. But at least, the Dad decided to end his relationship with Miss Jenn the moment they found out that Ricky is uncomfortable with their relationship. The Dad is at least trying to be better while the Mom continues to be invisible on Ricky's life at least on screen.

I don't think it's fair to place blame on Ricky's parents for handling something that, let's be honest, is beyond the scope of what a 16/17 year old can reasonably handle. On top of that, his parents are grown adults with the capabilities to handle their business amicably. I think the divorce, while tragic, was handled gracefully and they both, as grown adults, seem all the better for it.
Ricky is the one who can't handle letting other people have something. He walked out on HSM when he saw his mom happy with another man. He threw a tantrum during a class because his dad and Miss Jenn went on ONE DATE. Prompting Miss Jenn to call it off with his dad even though they were both content with each other.
Ricky is.. destructive.. if not to himself and his own personal growth , to the people around him. He's now about to ruin something good with Nini because he not only listened to an outside opinion, he couldn't just support her at her highest.
If we had some footage of Ricky in his early development years then MAYBE we could have some semblance of an idea of if his parents are to blame or not. But as we're only aware of whats being shown on camera, it's simply not fair to place all the blame on his parents who, in my honest opinion, are doing their best with the hand they were dealt

At least East High actually works hard for what they want, instead of purposely sabotaging or relying on huge amount of money to make themselves look like all that. And East High is focusing on story, acting, and overall talent of everyone while North High is just focusing on flash, and they overall have more heart and soul than the North High kids. Gina and Kourtney were actually dancing while the North High kids just threw a lot of tricks in their faces, which isn't bad, but a lot of the dancing in BATB doesn't use tricks. And overall, the East High kids play fair. Ashlynn will always be a way better Belle than Lilly, she actually embodies everything Belle is, kind, fair, beautiful, and feeling she doesn't fit in. Lilly will just ruin Belle.
