I listened to this song for HOURS trying to get the Crissaegrim from killing Schmoos!! Sadly, as powerful as that sword is, it makes the game WAY too easy if you use it all the time.

The crissaegrim is great for backtracking so you can just move straight through any area, but I prefer changing to the alucard sword for bosses to preserve at least some degree of challenge.

Would you believe I didn't find out about the shield thing until several years and many play throughs later? There was much facepalming when I did, because crissaegrim, soul steal, and that weapon that uses soul steal with every attack weren't overpowered enough.

To me, this is the most beautiful music from SOTN. It has a haunting quality about it, with elements of both sorrow and happiness. It's just awesome. It really makes me think of Lisa (Alucard's mother) and Alucard's resolve to honour her dying wish to have love for human beings. If only I could meet a woman like Lisa someday... sigh

I still get chills down my spine hearing this. Just listening to this track takes me back to 2008 when I first played SOTN on my Xbox 360. I had castlevania games growing up but never knew about SOTN till my dad got it since me and him never played that one at the time. The music captivated me and really got me into video game soundtracks. This game holds a very near and dear place in my heart. Thank you Iga, and the entire team that made the best castlevania game of all time. I’d say one of the best games ever made. Thank you for the memories.

This song changed a lot of things for me. It's like, playing this part of the game, descending god knows how far into the depths of one of the most hellish settings on earth, and this song plays. Somehow, it brings an almost romanticized, fairy tale aspect to something so dark. This song, along with the entire game forever changed my view of Dracula's castle

I’ve never felt more nostalgic for a game I played in my 20s late after it came out. I remember having COVID and being locked in my room with only my ps4 and was looking for a good game to get me through quarantine and SotN was the first I thought of trying. Boy was it the right pick! Truly a timeless masterpiece of a game.

Contrary to other players, this music used to be the eeriest for me as the three different enemies in Reverse Library; the schumo, lion and tin man messed me up as a kid. I even felt depressed passing through the reversed library. The music is actually very lovely.

So there's a song on a Tales of the Abyss music album that, when I first heard it, I thought "This HAS to be based on a song from the game!" So I went through every song in the game and found nothing. A couple weeks later I played SotN again just for kicks, and THIS was the song I was thinking of. Felt so good... Such a great song.

Damn this game had some of the greatest music in video game history! I miss this. Wish they would do another one like it. All the others after it felt lacking in some way shape or form.
