Castro is a renowned Ghanaian hiplife and azonto artist
1) Castro is a grime artist from Tottenham, North London:
The content of Castro's lyrics are mainly focused on narcotics but do contain some references to the supernatural. Castro is part of the North London based crew/label/company Proper P. Currently it is speculated that Castro is currently working on a album or mixtape.
2) A Belgian rapper from Ghent:
Castro was born in 1977 as Wannes Van de Velde in Mechelen, Belgium and currently lives in Ghent. In his daily life he's a streetworker but in 1999 he started Castro 'n Pollux with his brother and in 2000 they made their first demo. People liked it very well and only a year after they came out with their first single; Herfst 2057 (Autumn 2057). There were three numbers on it and one of them was 'Eens' with the Dutch rappers Spacekees and Terilekst. In 2003, Castro came with his debute record Shockgolf (Shockwave)
Castro doesn't rap in the dialect from Ghent but more in Flemish, which is better to understand for the Dutch audience from The Netherlands, who don't like 't Hof van Commerce, another Flemisch hip hop band (because they simply can't understand their dialect).
3) An Scottish alternative rock band from Glasgow:
If you read below, you can study a detail biogrophy of the Glasgow rock band that once supported The Dead 60s. I think their mum wrote it. The Castro better represented on last.fm charts is, according to last.fm user Lofnar, "een rapper, geen groep". He rose to prominence on JME's Derkhead mixtape with a track produced by Lava. It's really bloody good.
Castro is a 5-piece alternative rock band from Glasgow, Scotland. The band began performing around 2003, with a different line-up, but in the last year and a half, several changes to the line-up, including new bass player John Selfridge, drummer Graham Williamson, and new guitarist Alan Williamson have helped bring the band a traditional rock n roll swagger, and an invincible stage presence. The band started off playing local pubs such as Harleys rock bar in Hamilton and Bar Starka in Motherwell. Since then, the band have played most of Scotlands best live music venue including The Barfly, The Renfrew Ferry, Nice n Sleazys, Stereo, The Cathouse Rock Club and King Tuts(at which the bands musical idols Oasis were also discovered).
The band were recently supported in a local gig by a band in the top ten of the beat 106 competition Miller Unsigned. The gig was a massive success and like most of the bands local and regional gigs, it was a sell-out due to the band accumulating a healthy and loyal fanbase in the Glasgow region.
To further add to their profile, the band even booked a date to play in Scotlands Barlinnie Prison. The performance went down such a storm that even the inmates asked for the band to return, which they did, a while later. Castro recently supported popular British bands The Dead 60s, The Warlocks and The Kooks in yet more sell-out shows at King Tuts. The Dead 60s are now touring with the colossal heavyweight alternative chart rock band The Stereophonics.
The band are also in the Glasgow final of the East-meets-West competition, which will be held in the Barrowlands (a venue played regularly by the likes of Oasis, foo fighters, etc;). Previous heats have gone well for the band, in which they have played other bands completely off the stage, and for which they have sold well over one hundred tickets, despite date clashes with popular events such as the Scottish League Cup Final.
Graham Williamson and John Selfridge are both studying music technology at university, and both have received awards in music technology from their schooldays and since. Liam-Gallagher-esque Vocalist Colin Richardson and guitarist John Taylor have been writing together since their childhood and have become a brothers-in-arms on stage and in the studio. Alan Williamson joined the band recently as guitarist/backing-vocalist and his talent has been recognised by fans and band members alike.
The success of the bands independently released 4-track debut EP Cheap Thrills, recorded at Washoose studios in Glasgow (which was also given a positive review by Scottish newspaper The Daily Record) was unprecedented with the bands incredible, energetic and highly entertaining live performances reinforcing the recording, which completely sold out, and forced the band to run off another batch, such has been the interest in the band, including interest from record labels such as Sony. The bands original brand of post-Britpop style alternative rock has drawn influence from artists such as Oasis, Jet, The Foo Fighters, The Music, led zeppelin and The Beatles. They have even been compared to AC/DC, and appeal to a wide range of concert goers, with fans ranging from young teenagers to people in their 40s, and with labels keeping tabs on the bands activities, it is only a matter of time before the best band in Scotland start being called the best new band in Britain.
The band are expected to embark upon UK and US tours during late 2006, and during the summer of 2007.

Why?

The song "Why" by Castro talks about the conflict of falling in love unexpectedly while not wanting to commit to a relationship. The lyrics reveal the singer's hesitation towards love and how the person they met was meant to be just a temporary companion. However, the beauty and comfort of being with them changed their perspective and made them question why they had to develop such deep feelings.
The first verse describes how the singer was physically and emotionally lonely and only wanted someone to touch and feel close to for a while. They were not looking for something serious but when they met the person, their beauty and personality captured their attention. This was not the plan, yet they could not help falling in love with the person.
In the second verse, the singer reveals that the touch and connection they shared with the other person were unlike any they had ever experienced before. It was so profound that it touched their soul. Despite this, they still resisted the pull of love because they feared getting attached to someone. The chorus repeats the question of why this person had to be so beautiful and perfect for them when they were not searching for a relationship. It expresses that the singer only wanted an easy, temporary connection without any strings attached but could not help developing feelings for the other person.

When I held you, it was something
When I embraced you, it was just a mere physical touch
That was nothing much to me
It didn't hold any emotional significance for me
I was in it, for the moment,
I was only living for the present and not considering the future
Wanted someone touching me
I craved any physical affection from someone
And I didn't want to fall in love
I didn't intend to get emotionally attached
So why did you have to be
Why did you have to exist in my life
So beautiful, so good to me
Why did you have to possess qualities that attracted me
When I was only looking for, someone to hold
When I was only searching for a temporary companionship
Just for a while why did I have to see your smile
Why did I have to witness your charming smile while seeking short-term comfort
The one who stayed in all my dreams
Why did you have to become my constant daydream
When I was needing nothing more,
When I didn't have any emotional needs
Than someone to kiss
Other than someone to physically interact with
To hold in the night
To embrace during the night
Why did you have to be so right
Why did you have to be the perfect fit for me
When you touched me it was something
Your touch was an extraordinary experience compared to any past encounters
Like no touch I had known
It was distinct from any physical touch I had ever experienced
I could feel it in that moment
I could sense it instantly
That your touch had touched my soul
Your touch had evoked profound emotions within me
Why did you have to say
Why did you have to express words to me
The words that took my breath away
The words that had a significant effect on me
I was alright I was just being free
I was okay and not looking for anything serious
