R
Catatonia Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Small wonder you've not heard from her
She's gone now, back in england
She got spirit, will go farther
But she can't see the romance in the colour of your schemes
The colour of your schemes . . . oh
But you know and i that all girls are fly
And all men must die for their cars
Why blunder? there's no wonder
You've been feeling six foot under
Make it happen, you: it could happen
But don't forget to turn the light off if you're last to leave
If you're last to leave here
''cause you know and i that all girls are fly
And all men must die for their cars
And you know and i that all men are fly

And all girls must die, or something
To fade

Overall Meaning

The song "R" by Catatonia narrates a story of a girl who is now back in England and is out of reach for the singer. The lyrics suggest that she has a lively spirit and is determined to go further in life. However, she cannot see the beauty or allure in the plans or proposals of the singer. The phrase "the colour of your schemes" implies that the singer's plans or schemes are dull, unexciting, and unappealing. Perhaps, this can be interpreted as a criticism of the singer's lack of imagination and inability to think creatively.

The song also touches on the themes of mortality and taking risks. The phrase "all men must die for their cars" may suggest that men often value material possessions over their own lives. On the other hand, the phrase "all girls must die, or something" may suggest that women are often treated unfairly or equally disposable in society. The overall message of the song seems to encourage the singer to take charge of their lives and not be afraid to make things happen, but to be mindful of their surroundings and remember to turn off the lights as they leave.

the medical community is very dangerous when it comes to catatonia, my son has nearly been disabled by catatonia.

@meldog7925

Did this family member get the jab? I know someone young and previously healthy before the jab that has catatonia now...just curious

I was always intrigued by the movie Awakenings , can you put some light on that , how accurate it was or what was the case medically ?

@afanasymarinov2236

E. g. lorazepam should be given with a dose of 20 to 30mg per day. In comparison, non catatonic suicidal patients often receive only 4 to 6mg.

Yeah... 👍

I am trying to find information on catatonia that resembles my experience. I was diagnosed with Primary Psychosis. When I was 11 I was ill for 3 days where I was unable to move, really low energy and barely spoke. The dr said he had never seen anything like it and that it may be swine flu. Ever since I have experienced episodes where my legs stop working causing me to fall down. Sometimes I am unable to get myself up because I can't bear weight on my legs and my arms don't go the direction my brain tells them to. I have had blood tests, echos, an EKG and a CT scan. It's not dehydration or BPPV. Its not fainting or vertigo. Another odd symptom I had was saying yes to anything I am asked immediately without ANY thought at all. I saw some mention of this symptom in regards to catatonia, but I am getting frustrated trying to figure this out. I also deal with excessive movement (pacing), repetitive movements (grabbing shirt or moving hands and arms) that are very apparent to even strangers. I asked in a psychosis subreddit and they said it does seem like catatonia but I want to find examples of other people with a situation like mine.
