Anyone would guess
After seeing you together
I'd say it's obvious
Day falls after day
No matter what you do
Say what you will say but
Jane keeps falling after
You
You say you haven't crossed the line yet
But the lines are thing
And you keep trying not to forget
She's still in something
Day falls after day
No matter what you do
Say what you will say but
Jane keeps falling after
Jane keeps falling after
You
Some things you can't hide
Like the feeling of a roller coaster ride
Like the feelings I can see
'Cause I remember when that was me
You keep on writing your poetry
I bet she's got some too
But you don't have to show it to me
'Cause it's nothing new
Day falls after day
No matter what you do
Say what you will say but
Jane keeps falling after
Jane keeps falling after
Jane keeps falling after
You, You, You, You, yeah
The song "Jane" by Catie Curtis seems to describe a situation where someone is in love with another person who is already in a committed relationship. The singer is having a conversation with the person who is in love and keeps asking whether anyone would suspect their feelings. But the singer says that it's pretty obvious after seeing them together. The chorus emphasizes the inevitability of the situation, no matter what they do "Jane keeps falling" for the person who is already committed.
The second verse delves deeper into the situation. The person who is in love claims that they haven't crossed the line yet, but the lines are thin and may blur eventually. They keep trying to forget that the other person is in a relationship but they can't. The bridge of the song seems to suggest that the singer knows exactly what the person in love is going through because she too had gone through similar feelings before. The song ends with several repetitions of the line "Jane keeps falling after you," emphasizing the idea that the person in love will keep wanting the other person no matter what happens.
