Following the brothers' falling out, Max Cavalera had formed a new band, Soulfly, and Igor had recorded four studio albums with Sepultura before leaving the band in January 2006. In July 2006, Max received an unexpected call from his brother, and by the end of the conversation, Max had invited Igor to visit him in Phoenix, Arizona, to perform in a Soulfly show. Igor joined Soulfly in concert and performed two Sepultura songs. After the show, Max suggested they begin a new project, and Igor accepted. To complete the band, Max chose Soulfly guitarist Marc Rizzo and Joe Duplantier (Gojira) as the bass guitarist. The group then recorded their debut album at Undercity Studios in Los Angeles with engineer and co-producer Logan Mader in July 2007. Named after the band's original moniker, Inflikted was released through Roadrunner Records on March 25, 2008. Cavalera Conspiracy has released three more albums since then: Blunt Force Trauma (2011), Pandemonium (2014) and Psychosis (2017).

Cavalera Conspiracy Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Master, destroyer, redeemer
Immortal thy will be done
Messiah, deceiver, ritual killer
Evoke the heavens eternal
In sickness darkness decays
Oblivion consumes my holy soul
In Hypnos, death of the world
Insane
I am the plague from barren womb
Is this mankind?
Insane
From barren womb
Is this mankind?
Insane
Insiminate your tortured flesh
Your name is call, I thee envoke
My extinction and my demise
Incinerate corrupted minds
Cult of none
The blackened sun
Nails are piercing your flesh
Heaven and earth converge
Abortion, embryonic death
Insane
I am the plague from barren womb
Is this mankind?
Insane
From barren womb
Is this mankind?
Insane
The lyrics to Cavalera Conspiracy's song Insane heavily feature themes of destruction, chaos, and the struggle between good and evil. The lyrics suggest that mankind is ultimately revealed to be insane, with both a destructive and redemptive nature. The song explores the idea of a great master, destroyer, and redeemer, whose will is immortal and always done. This figure, however, is also viewed as both messiah and deceiver, a ritual killer who invokes the heavens eternal but ultimately brings about darkness and decay.
The second verse continues this theme, with the lyrics exploring the idea of death and decay. Oblivion consumes the singer's holy soul, and death seems to be inching closer with each passing moment. The singer seems to grasp in desperation at the idea of hypnosis or some other form of escape from the end of the world.
Ultimately, the lyrics suggest that mankind is doomed, with the singer describing themselves as a plague from a barren womb, and questioning if this is truly what mankind has become. The song concludes with the singer vowing to incinerate corrupted minds, suggesting that the struggle between good and evil will continue even in the face of certain destruction.
