We're going downtown baby,
that's where we wanna go.
I've got a map, you rolled up the window.
She said, "see it," and I said,
"it's beautiful, somewhere in between dumb and kind of cool."
she put her hands in the sky and kept them there.
Said she's too afraid to tell the high school secret.
But you don't have to be afraid,
I promise I can keep it.
I wanna be a deep sea diver,
swimming in a foreign sea.
Where the sunshine shines like wildfire and the waves just keep on crashing.
Or an outback trailblazing mountain climber walking through the rugged land.
I'll be following the clues in my worn out shoes saying,
"The dirt won't wash off my hands."
Doo-doo-dooooo...
I've got an eighty-seven push,
a twelve speed bicycle leaning up against the hideout by the swimming pool.
She walks by and says,
"Oh, yeah, I like that. Maybe we can bike together on the way back."
Hey pretty girl with your beach-blonde hair,
I saw you walked by me trying not to stare.
Said she's too afraid to say what she's thinking of and says she doesn't want to talk about it just because.
I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be a deep sea diver
I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be a deep sea diver
I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be a deep sea diver
I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be a deep sea diver
The song "Deep Sea" by Cayucas is about the desire to escape into nature and explore the world beyond the mundane routines of everyday life. The singer describes his longing to be a deep-sea diver or mountain climber, seeking adventure in foreign lands where the sunshine shines wild and the waves crash endlessly. The song captures a sense of wanderlust and a desire to break free from the limitations of society and explore the world on one's own terms.
The lyrics tell a story of two people, a guy, and a girl, who set out on a journey together. They start in the city, with the guy driving and the girl looking out the window. They both have different reasons for wanting to leave – for the girl, it's a high school secret she's too afraid to tell, and for the guy, it's a deep-seated desire to explore. Along the way, they meet other people, some of whom have their own secrets, and they all share a sense of restlessness and a longing for something more.
One of the key themes of the song is the idea that adventure and exploration can be transformative. By breaking free from the limitations of everyday life, we can discover new parts of ourselves and find a sense of purpose and meaning. Whether it's diving deep into the ocean or climbing a mountain, the act of exploration forces us to confront our fears and push beyond our limits. The song encourages us to embrace our sense of wanderlust and to follow our dreams, even if they take us into uncharted territories.
