The lyrics of Celio González's song "Cien Mil Cosas" (A Hundred Thousand Things) express a deep longing for being with someone, and the desire to express everything that is being kept hidden inside. The song speaks of both joy and sorrow, experiencing both emotions thinking about the love for the other person. The verses reflect an intense feeling of admiration for the person, depicted through the clever use of metaphors to enunciate the magnitude of the feelings.
The phrase "Si tú supieras" (If you only knew) is repeated throughout the song, emphasizing the weight of unexpressed emotions. The lyrics convey a sense of urgency in sharing one's deepest emotions and feelings with the person they love. The words "Para contarte cien mil cosas" (to tell you a hundred thousand things) create an image of how much the person wants to share with their loved one, despite not knowing where to start.
Overall, the song is an ode to being brave enough to share one's true feelings, even if the other person might not understand or believe them fully.
