Frozen
Celldweller Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Inside this fantasy
It seems so real to me
Synthetic ecstasy, when her legs are open
True life behind a wall
Where men and angels fall
A fading memory, when my mind is frozen

I can see a frozen point in time
Where her figure still awaits
Tongue of fire tracing lips outline
Where frozen breath originates

With one motion of her waiting eyes
She strips everything away
This one moment is intensified
And colors all fade to grey

I am in the only place that i want to be
Though we know that it ends eventually
But it's alright because right now we're frozen

"I want to forget mistakes they've helped me make
It's better to be broken than to break"

Inside this fantasy
It seems so real to me
Synthetic ecstasy, when her legs are open
True life behind a wall
Where men and angels fall
A fading memory, when my mind is frozen

I can see a frozen point in time
That is easy to retrace
Light and darkness are both intertwined
The elements are in their place with

One motion of her wanting mind
The real world begins to fade
And all the hateful things I have become
Temporarily go away

Inside this fantasy
It seems so real to me
Synthetic ecstasy, when her legs are open
True life behind a wall
Where men and angels fall
A fading memory, when my mind is frozen

I'll take you anwhere you want to go
Far from anything that feels like home (lets go)
You are anyone I want to be (it's here and now, and now it's only you and me)

It's never enough (mmm that's true)
I want to stay here (yeah, and I do too)
Breakin' it down(takin' it down)
With smell (smell), touch(touch, taste (taste), sight (sight), and sound (sound)

How long will I be here without you near because I'm so cold
Break them first or I'll get broken is not what I was told, now I'm so cold
I'm so cold
So cold

Inside this fantasy
It seems so real to me
Synthetic ecstasy, when her legs are open
True life behind a wall
Where men and angels fall
A fading memory, when my mind is frozen

Inside this fantasy
It seems so real to me
Synthetic ecstasy, when her legs are open

Where men and angels fall
A fading memory, when my mind is frozen

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Celldweller's "Frozen" describe a surreal and otherworldly experience where the singer is lost in a synthetic ecstasy. The song uses vivid imagery to describe an intimate encounter with someone who seems to exist only in a frozen point in time. This experience frees the singer from the real world and its troubles, and allows him to fully focus on the present moment.

The first stanza sets the tone for the rest of the song by describing the singer's detachment from reality. He is in a "fantasy" that "seems so real to me," suggesting that he is losing touch with what is truly real. The "synthetic ecstasy" and "fading memory" reinforce this idea of an experience that is not entirely concrete.

In the chorus, the singer describes the frozen point in time where he is consumed by his desire for the person with him. The colors of the world "fade to grey," as he loses touch with reality and is swept away by his emotions. He acknowledges that the moment is fleeting, and that he must enjoy it while it lasts.

In the bridge, the singer expresses a desire to forget his mistakes and remain in this moment forever. However, he acknowledges that this is impossible, and that he must eventually return to the real world.

Overall, "Frozen" is a song about escapism and the intense emotional experiences that can come with it. The song explores the fleeting nature of these experiences and the difficulty of returning to reality afterwards.

I feel like people overlook the meaning of this song and only see it as "that funny sex song". Like if you look closely (okay probably not too close the lyrics are right there) it's actually kinda sad. It's about an addiction. Not just to sex, but to the fantasy of being with someone. I like to think of this as a great companion piece to "welcome to the end" (and yes I put an overly long analysis on that video too...). This song is almost like the excitement of a new fantasy. Of escaping the lonely "cold" life outside and pretending to be someone else, and be with someone else.

Towards the end the narrator seems to realize how fucked up it all is,
"how long will I be here without you here because I am so cold! "Break them first or I'll get broken" is not what I was told
Now I'm so cold"
I think this shows it's about a breakup. But the singer initiated it. He broke up with her because he thought she would break up with him first. But now he's lonely because of it. thus, the fantasy.

Isolation is another theme that shows up in a lot of these songs, I'd even argue that isolation is the main theme of the whole album.
"better to be broken than to break."
or, better to isolate yourself from others than to continually get hurt by them.

The funny sex song is Heart On, not this.
