Ghosts
Celldweller Tom Salta Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Dreams and memories are decaying here
Cold, constantly turning sphere
Where shadows gather and quickly disappear
Stepping through time and our minds are always focused on our prey
Our spirits gone on recon, our former lives are falling far away
To think they know their enemy will make you stronger
Ghosts, recreate the (fear)
To think its only in their minds will make them weaker
(We will vindicate)
Ghosts in a place of fear
The screams of enemies are replaying here
Old phantasms persevere
Til threats to innocence no longer interfere
Stepping through time and our minds are always focused on our prey
Our spirits gone on recon, our former lives are falling far away
Ghosts, see the face of (fear)
To think they know their enemy will make you stronger
Ghosts, recreate the (fear)
To think its only in their minds will make them weaker
(We will vindicate)
(We will, we will)
Ghosts, see the face of (fear)
To think they know their enemy will make you stronger
Ghosts, recreate the (fear)
To think its only in their minds will make them weaker
(We will, we will)
Ghosts, see the face of (fear)
To think they know their enemy will make you stronger
Ghosts, recreate the (fear)
To think its only in their minds will make them weaker
(We will) Make them weaker
(We will vindicate)
The lyrics to "Ghosts" by Celldweller and Tom Salta describe a place of fear where dreams and memories are decaying, and shadows quickly disappear. The song speaks of ghosts that see the face of fear, and in doing so, can become stronger by knowing their enemy. However, the ghosts can also recreate their own fear in their minds, which will make them weaker. The lyrics paint the picture of a constant battle with fear, where one's focus is always on their prey, while their former life falls far away.
The song discusses the theme of fear, which can be a powerful force in our lives. Fear can drive us to be more alert and cautious, but it can also hold us back and make us weaker. The lyrics suggest that it's important to know your enemy and face your fears head-on, rather than allowing them to control you. The line "Our former lives are falling far away" implies that by confronting our fears, we can move forward and leave the past behind.
Overall, "Ghosts" by Celldweller and Tom Salta is a reflection on the power of fear and the importance of facing it head-on. The song's lyrics encourage listeners to be stronger and not allow their fears to control them.

That intro/hook (not the 30 seconds of spook) is one of the best Celldweller hooks composed. Seriously fantastic.

This is song is too good. Klayton is a god among men. The pure, unaltered talent he possesses is unreal. I don't know how one man can be so talented, but I'm glad he is.

Klayton is one of those artists that I'll pretty much follow/buy whatever he does, but it's still refreshing to see songs like this fleshed out. It sounds like very like much like a late Circle of Dust/early Celldweller song. I know he's a perfectionist, but there's a quality in these types of songs that is hard to walk away from; that whole era of music still has legs for me.
