Campello started her career early: she danced Tico-Tico no Fubá at the age of five in a children's show. At the age of six, she sang at Rádio Cacique in Taubaté, where she spent her childhood. She became one of the participants in the Clube do Guri, at Rádio Difusora de Taubaté. She studied piano, guitar, and ballet during her childhood.
At the age of twelve she already had her own radio program, also on Rádio Cacique. At the age of fifteen (1958) she recorded her first album, in São Paulo, on the other side of the first 78 rotations of her brother Tony Campello, who accompanied her in most of her career as singer and actress. She made her television debut on the program Campeões do Disco, on TV Tupi, in 1958. In 1959 she started her own program with Tony Campello, called Celly and Tony em Hi-Fi, on Rede Record, which she hosted for two years.

quem quiser um grande amor,
pegue um bocadinho de ternura,
tome um coração cheio de ardor,
faça com cuidado uma mistura,
você terá grande amor.
Grande amor, grande amor,
deixe o coração voar contente,
como im passarinho em liberdade,
roube um beijo doce e bem ardente,
você terá grande amor.
Refrão:
Ninguém vai (ninguém vai)
conseguir (conseguir)
escapar do amor
quando vem dominando.
Grande amor, grande amor,
quem quiser um grande amor,
pegue um bocadinho de ternura,
tome um coração cheio de ardor
faça com cuidado ima mistura,
você terá grande amor.
Refrão
Grande amor, grande amor
quem quiser um grande amor
deixe o coração voar contente
como um passarinho em liberdade,
roube um beijo doce e bem ardente,
você terá grande amor.
