Let It Snow
Celtic Woman Lyrics

But the fire is so delightful,
And since we've no place to go,
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.
It doesn't show signs of stopping,
And I brought some corn for popping;
The lights are turned way down low,
When we finally say good night,
How I'll hate going out in the storm;
But if you really hold me tight,
All the way home I'll be warm.
The fire is slowly dying,
And, my dear, we're still good-bye-ing,
But as long as you love me so.
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.
The song Let It Snow by Celtic Woman is a classic Christmas tune written by lyricist Sammy Cahn and composer Jule Styne. The lyrics are a perfect representation of a warm and cozy winter night, spent indoors with someone special. The opening lines "The weather outside is frightful" set the tone of the song as an ode to the joy of staying indoors while it's snowing outside. The warm feeling of the fire and the company of loved ones is all that's needed to make the night special, just like the line "But the fire is so delightful".
The second stanza of the song, "It doesn't show signs of stopping" seems to acknowledge the harshness of the storm outside, but the singer has already made their choice to stay indoors, where it's warm and safe. The mood of the song shifts from a celebration of winter weather to a romantic ballad in the following stanzas, as the singer expresses their desire to stay close to their loved one despite the storm outside. The lines "But if you really hold me tight, all the way home I'll be warm" is the highlight of the song that paints a picture of a warm embrace that can make everything outside seem irrelevant.
The final stanza is a bittersweet goodbye, indicating the end of a wonderful night together. The fire is dying and it's time to go home, but the warmth of love still lingers. "But as long as you love me so, let it snow, let it snow, let it snow" is a powerful line that ends the song on a positive note, expressing that the strength of love can make even the harshest conditions bearable.
