The band centers around the two principal songwriters of Wisch and Medina. Wisch’s infectious melodies and meticulous song structures are complemented by Medina’s raw and highly energetic punk anthems.
Expanding on the catchy, power-pop songs of their debut EP, Cende’s first full-length album, #1 Hit Single, sees the band experimenting with more varied instrumentation and detailed production. The album was spearheaded by Wisch, who spent over a year carefully sculpting the album alongside producer, engineer, and friend Ronnie Stone. The end result is a compact and emotional batch of songs that draw influence from personal relationships, bizarre dreams, and the experiences surrounding the members’ lives during three years of living downstairs in a creative and chaotic DIY space. #1 Hit Single is out May 26th 2017 via Double Double Whammy.
Bed
Cende Lyrics

I can't get out
I'm the only one that I can let down
You get into me
You can't get out
You're the only one that I can let down
I put on my clothes
How do I look?
Well you say good, but who knows?
Face that you put on
Tell me what's wrong
You're the only one that I can count on
You'll be better off when I'm all alone
I'll get out of the way,
Don't make it easy on me
I get into bed
I can't get out
I'm the only one that I can let down
The lyrics of the song "Bed" by Cende might make the listener feel a bit melancholic. The song is about the feeling of being stuck in one's own head and not being able to escape the feeling of being alone. The singer gets into bed and can't get out, indicating a state of inertia or being stuck. The line "I'm the only one that I can let down" expresses the singer's feeling of being disappointed with themselves and not being able to live up to their own expectations.
The second verse talks about how someone else is getting into the singer and they can't get out. This could represent a relationship or a situation that they feel stuck in. The line "You'll be better off when I'm not around" hints at the singer's feeling of being a burden to someone else, which is again related to their low self-esteem.
The chorus repeats the first verse, emphasizing the feeling of being stuck and not being able to get out of bed. The second verse talks about the singer putting on a facade and questioning whether they look good or not. The line "You're the only one that I can count on" could be directed towards society, indicating that the singer feels like no one else understands them.
The song's overall message is that the singer feels stuck and unable to escape their own negative thoughts. The lyrics express feelings of low self-esteem, disappointment, and lack of self-belief.
