Euterpe
Cervello Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Aria di cose lontane da me
sorge dall'oscurità.

Bontà mi mostri con femminilità,
c'è chi vivrà per te.
Seno ti manca non sei una donna tu,
cresci con grazia, ma poi...
Seno ti manca non sei una donna tu,
cresci con grazia, ma poi...

Un ruscello scorre, gratta visceralità
Manna per la specie dei coturni,
Vita
mi dà Euterpe.
Quella Musa di latta pia svanirà mai.
Canta poi dipinge
Forse ancora rivivrò.

Limpida illusione di momenti sani,
dove si riflette la sincerità,
Rotola la carne verso rive che mostrano
le spoglie di una virgo
Gorgo d'antracite tinge il viso
Si confonde col mare
l'esile miraggio della Musa antica
sfugge con virgore.

Ora sento di scoppiare per
la verità.

Overall Meaning

The opening lines "Aria di cose lontane da me, sorge dall'oscurità" translate to "Air of things far from me, rises from the darkness." The singer is expressing a yearning for something beyond their current circumstances, as though they can sense that there is more to life than what they are experiencing. They are drawn towards a feminine energy that will show them kindness and goodness, and suggest that some people will live for this energy. The next lines "Seno ti manca non sei una donna tu, cresci con grazia, ma poi..." mean "If you lack a breast, you are not a woman, grow with grace, but then..." The singer seems to be referencing physical qualities typically associated with femininity, but then interrupts themselves, suggesting that these outward characteristics might not be the most important part of being female.

The rest of the lyrics reference the Greek muse Euterpe, who is the muse of music and song. The singer talks about a stream (ruscello) that flows with vitality, and how it brings them "life" through Euterpe's inspiration. They mention the "specie dei coturni," which translates to "species of tragedies" and refers to the ancient Greek theater tradition where actors wore elevated shoes (coturni) to depict tragic characters. As they sing and paint, the singer hopes to revive the power of Euterpe and experience a sense of innocence and truth. However, the final lines "Ora sento di scoppiare per la verità" mean "Now I feel like I'm about to burst with the truth." Despite their search for something more in life, the singer is still grappling with the struggle to find meaning and a sense of self.
