EVERYONE loved Nickelback when they came out, they had chart toppin hit after hit and people respected the amazing quality of their music.

Then, outta no where, it just became cool to hate Nickelback or talk about how terrible they are.... based on... nothing.

I partially hated them thinking they only made songs for radio hits until I found out they played in pubs for ten years first and made at least 2 super heavy rock albums first - not radio friendly and after their success made a heavy rock album again a couple of years ago. Matchbox twenty also played in pubs for several years before having a hit sungle or album. So easy to judge quickly right ?

You must be young, or maybe never musically trained.
I know that may sound a little harsh, but the amount of tone deaf people I've seen on shows like 'American Idol' - or insert another country - that have no idea that they have no talent, seem astonishing to me. All their friends telling them they are great, but in reality...that couldn't be further from their friends' opinions.
Good luck to you with finding a band that has such an enormous amount of lyrically diverse as well as musical talent.

Every time I listen to a Nickelback song, I think "why do they get mocked so much?". They are an awesome musical ensemble, who created hit after hit. I know they've all got the last laugh taking all their money to the bank, and now able to live in the lap of luxury with their earnings -- which doubtless keep on coming in, since their music is used all over the place, and the royalties all go to them. Ever since I first heard Rockstar on their 2005 album All The Right Reasons, I've always loved this track with those clever lyrics. Seeing this on YouTube today marks the first time I've ever seen the video .. don't know how they managed to get all those people to contribute, but the effect is great!
