Doors
Chakra Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Take me back again,
And wake this child that's sleeping.
Slip inside my head,
And make my mind believing.

You, you open up the doors I close.
The things you do
Bleed into my heart and soul.
I try, I try to let these thoughts unfold,
Unlock my mind, and open up the doors I close.

I am not alone,
I feel you watching over.
Slip inside my soul,
Until the light is closer.

You, you open up the doors I close.
The things you do
Bleed into my heart and soul.

I try, I try to let these thoughts unfold,
Unlock my mind, and open up the doors I close.

Overall Meaning

“Doors” by Chakra is a track that talks about the power of opening oneself up to love and the beauty that comes with it. The song depicts the journey of the singer as they reach out to a loved one, asking for them to awaken their love and break through the walls that they have built around themselves.

The lyrics “Take me back again, and wake this child that's sleeping” speak to the innocence and vulnerability of the singer, and their desire to regain a sense of wonder and joy that they may have lost over the years. They then ask the loved one to “Slip inside my head, and make my mind believing”, which can be interpreted as an invitation to truly know them intimately and help them believe that love is possible.

The chorus “You, you open up the doors I close. The things you do bleed into my heart and soul. I try, I try to let these thoughts unfold, unlock my mind, and open up the doors I close” emphasizes the impact that the loved one has on the singer's life. The loved one is seen as a guiding light, opening up previously closed doors and helping the singer grow emotionally and spiritually.

Overall, “Doors” by Chakra is a beautiful song about love and the transformative power it can have on a person. The lyrics encourage listeners to open themselves up to love, and to allow it to transform them in wonderful ways.

wow -love it -first heard this in 2003 and it still sounds savage, for me this is one of the best female vocal trance tracks of all time!

Yes, Kate Cameron has a wonderfully rich alto voice and she sounds so good on so many trance and dance tracks that she has collaborated with in the past. The Space Brothers aka so many other aliases too, have really set the bar high, in my books, with their writing and depth of their trance songs. I always love "Legacy Of Love (Matt Darey Remix)", "Chakra - Home" and "Love Shine Through", and so many others too. Although they feature other vocalists too, they cannot go unmentioned either... some great vocals on many of their releases. Who can forget the rhythmically, sultry, and entrancing remix that Nalin and Kane released of Lustral's (aka Space Brothers) chart-topping track, "Everytime"? I have always loved another Lustral song too, "Broken", there were several great remixes for that one and here are a few links: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n0e9HWpfEKQ and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zQX6cA0nqXE . Kate even sounds really soulful and did a wonderful job with her collaborative track with Mount Rushmore, "you better (victor calderone mix)". She sounds so similar to RnB singer, Angie B...that it's hard to distingusih between the two vocalists in portions of the song. :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s9oLHQfrQJA
