Instinto Humano
Chambao Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
instinto animal
la luz,las tinieblas
el aquí y el más allá
como dos en uno
como uno en dos
que me absorba
que me vuelve a arrastrar
permanente batalla
gladiadores sin par
sólo uno,sólo tú
sólo uno,sólo tú
madrugada verde
cobijo en el sur.
Niño le dice al papá,jamón
pare le dice potage de arró
y qué quieres que haga
si es lo único que hay,..¡ay!
Cogimos el mapa para mirar
cuánto nos faltaba pa llegá...
cuando nos dimos cuenta
de que ya estábamos en cai,...¡ay!
Nos fuimos sin mirar patrás
una mano delante,la otra detrá
¡ay! que me duele la barriga,¡ay! ¡ay! ¡ay!
Para ya el carro, vamos a pescar
que yo potage,ya no quiero más
dejarme de hamburguesas
y de las comidas lai,...¡ay!
(Dont fly away from me
I don't wanna let you go)
In Chambao's song "Instinto Humano," she sings about the instinctual and animalistic nature of humans. The lyrics suggest that humans are constantly battling between light and darkness, and between the present and the beyond. Despite these struggles, the singer longs to be absorbed and pulled by this instinct, as it is a fundamental part of being human.
The lyrics use the metaphors of two becoming one and one becoming two, suggesting that this struggle between light and darkness is also a struggle between our individual selves and the greater, collective whole. The singer invokes the image of gladiators in battle, suggesting that the instinctual struggle is both fierce and ancient.
The song also touches on themes of culture and tradition, as seen in the lines about a child asking for jamón (ham) and being given a potage de arró (rice stew). The singer also mentions their journey to Cádiz (Cai), suggesting a connection to Andalusian culture and geography. Ultimately, the lyrics remind us of the fundamental, instinctual nature of humans, and how this nature is tied to both individual identity and collective culture.
