Chamberlain Richard Lyrics

Drea-ea-ea-ea-eam, dream, dream, dream
Drea-ea-ea-ea-eam, dream, dream, dream
When I want you in my arms
When I want you and all your charms
Whenever I want you, all I have to do is
Drea-ea-ea-ea-eam, dream, dream, dream

When I feel blue in the night
And I need you to hold me tight
Whenever I want you, all I have to do is
Drea-ea-ea-ea-eam

I can make you mine, taste your lips of wine
Anytime night or day
Only trouble is, gee whiz
I'm dreamin' my life away

I need you so that I could die
I love you so and that is why
Whenever I want you, all I have to do is
Drea-ea-ea-ea-eam, dream, dream, dream
Drea-ea-ea-ea-eam

I can make you mine, taste your lips of wine
Anytime night or day
Only trouble is, gee whiz
I'm dreamin' my life away

I need you so that I could die
I love you so and that is why
Whenever I want you, all I have to do is
Drea-ea-ea-ea-eam, dream, dream, dream
Drea-ea-ea-ea-eam, dream, dream, dream

Overall Meaning

The song "All I Have to Do Is Dream" by the Everly Brothers was written by Boudleaux and Felice Bryant in 1958. The song is a romantic ballad that tells of a longing for a loved one who is not physically present. The lyrics express the singer's desire to have the object of their affection in their arms, to taste their lips of wine anytime, day or night. The singer explains that whenever they want this person, all they have to do is dream about them.

The repetition of the word "dream" throughout the song evokes a sense of longing and wistfulness. The singer is not able to have the person they want in reality, so they resort to dreaming about them instead. The lyrics also touch on the idea that the singer's dreams are an escape. They are able to forget their troubles and immerse themselves in a dream world where they can have the person they desire.

Jim Hilliker

He's got a good voice and the looks. I was only 8 in 1963. I was the oldest, no older sisters...So I had no clue as to how teenage girls felt about Richard. .I remember hearing the song on the radio and my mother watched the TV show, which was on past my bedtime. Overall, I like the record.

I used to watch DR KILDARE (1961) : my family didn't have a tv set...our neighbours did ....RICHARD, ALWAYS GORGEOUS!!!

Richard Chamberlains Version Of This Song Went To Number 14 On The Billboard Hot-100 Chart In 1963.

Kennneth Treistman

This song had me thinking, that Richard could have done The Beatles’ Yes It Is just as good as this one and basically almost the same arrangement. And would have been in the same key as this one.

Kennneth Treistman

Chad And Jeremy should have attempted this song too!

Tom Dockery
